Guest guest
With me, the reduction was faster (was on it for about 8 mos) it sounds like a good plan but should be approved by your Doctor! I did not experience any negative sides other that an increase in my anger level and a " shortness " with people that lasted a few weeks. In fact, the rest of my sides went away when I eliminated it completely. Good Luck jeff > OK ... hardly awake and shaking but am able to type ;o) ! > > Need some feedback fellow Lexo~s. > > Am reducing dosage as of last night and need to know if this sounds > ok ...... > > Was on 10 mg. > > Now 6 weeks on 5mg > > Followed by 6 weeks of 5 mg every other day. > > Sound right ? > > And what symptoms can I expect now that I reduce my dosage ? Thanks for your reply. My doc is the one who set it up. I was worried it was too quick of a reduction. I was on Celexa for 1 year and 3 months and Lexapro for 9 months. 2 years all in al. > In fact, the rest of my sides went away when I eliminated it > completely. > Good Luck > jeff So you are off now and doing well ? Thats great ! I'm nervous about *making it on my own* without them. I was on anti deps for a year in 97 (Paxil hell) and now these past 2 years. Since my grandmother dealth with depression and anxiety (electro shock) her whole life ... I assume this will not be the last time I pill pop. But if I can do 4 years without and 2 on 4 off 2 on ... I guess that will be something I can live with. Anti deps increase my weight greatly (Paxil : 40 pounds, Lex 12 pounds) and I have a liver problem that has to be dealt with by reducing my weight so I would prefer to handle life with the meds. Guest guest
ALWAYS follow your Doc's advice and if you have trouble of any type call them immediately! As we all react differently, no single person's total experiences will be the same as another's. If you were on Effexor, I would be a bit worried but with Lex, withdrawal was almost non existant for me! Effexor took me over 60 days to get over and that does not include the 30 days I spent doing the slow taper.....They should make that one illegal! My biggest complaint with my doc is that he did not even mention possible withdrawal symptoms to me...had to do my own research (and we pay these guys/gals!!!!) it also sounds as though your fear of not having a pill has you very concerned...talk to the doc about that one too! This fear is NOT abnormal amongst those of us having been on meds! " making it on our own is really what this is all about! Life itself can be a fearful experience for some! I guess it has to do with our genetic makeup, past experiences, + the times we live in! best of luck jeff > > With me, the reduction was faster (was on it for about 8 mos) it > > sounds like a good plan but should be approved by your Doctor! > > Thanks for your reply. Having some concerns and anciety is " normal " . I want to make sure that I don't jump right back on the pill just because I experience something that everyone deals with. I have lost sight of where the bounderies go I think ?!
