Guest guest
Hi Kalman, Some clinics have a sliding scale where you pay what you can. I would suggest researching this where you live. Also once in with the dr. they often have free samples of the drugs. I know that they did of Celexa. I am pretty sure the samples are now of Lexapro, as it is newer than Celexa. Keep us posted on what you find out. Maybe even call the unemployment office in your area, they may be able to refer you to the resources you are so in need of. Good luck, dagmar -- In Lexapro@y..., " Kalmudgeon " <kkish01@s...> wrote: > Hi All, > I have a question? > First of all I really feel I need to be on something and Lexapro seems like it'd definitely be the right thing for me. > My question is, how would someone who is unemployed because of his depression go about getting prescribed Lexapro? I mean, with no form of income and no benefits or any means to pay for a doctor how could I get Lexapro so I could actually get employment? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! > > Kalman
Guest guest
Oh, Kalman, I've been in that position - where you have to get samples from others. Even on insurance, it's hard to afford the co-pay sometimes. I have so many meds to take that my co-pay for all of them runs about $120 monthly. Some months that's hard to come by and I can't get a couple of them (my medical meds - I always have to get my bipolar meds). But I ALWAYS ask my pdoc and mdoc for samples. Every little bit helps. Have you explained your situation to your doctor? ASK for samples - they're usually happy to give you some. After all, that's what they get them for. Wish I could help - I was on paxil and have a handful here........ hugs, rayne On Friday, February 21, 2003, at 02:24 PM, Kalmudgeon wrote: > Yes Crystal, I have no insurance. Guest guest
Oh, man, I'm sorry. Wish I knew some sage advice I could give. Guest guest
Count of the prayers. Being said now, Kalman, as a matter-of-fact! While I' ve got you here, could you say a prayer for us - recent financial problems have my husband seeing a bankruptcy attorney this afternoon............ (student loan folks threatening garnishment of his wages). hugs, rayne On Friday, February 21, 2003, at 04:54 PM, Kalmudgeon wrote: > Prayers Are Good!... Great In Fact! Guest guest
Have you searched out your area for free or low-income health providers/clinics? Family service centers? In larger cities those services usually exist, and fees are income-based. Some will have psychiatrists on board. Good luck, Re: Kalman > > > > Oh, man, I'm sorry. Guest guest
Yes Crystal, I have no insurance. I hate to admit this, but I had to obtain my Paxil from someone that had a bunch of samples and wasn't taking it anymore. I was just so desperate to feel better. Hopefully, the amount of Paxil I have, will help me to be able to get a job with great benefits so I will be able to obtain insurance, because otherwise I don't know what I am going to do when I run out of what Paxil I've got. Another thing I notice with Paxil is that it seems to work on the anxiety and panic but not really on the depression. Guest guest
Yes, his exceeds his original loan by thousands & now they want to garnish his wages. It's been some 10 years since we've paid on it. He couldn't file against them before because it wasn't old enough. He's going to see if he can file against them now. He's filing alone this time, though - my credit is finally good again. (Last time we both filed.) We can deal with the threatening letters & phone calls. And they were taking our tax refund. I have no clue why the decided to garnish his wages. It was a collection agency that called his employer & said they were going to do that. I didn't know they had that kind of power. I thought all they could do was threaten stuff. We've always ignored them. But since his bosses' accounting department didn't, neither did we! Anyway, thanks for the prayers. And, we'll continue prayers for you. You're in a horrible bind. If nothing else, go to the ER when you run out of paxil!!!!! hugs & prayers, rayne On Friday, February 21, 2003, at 05:36 PM, Kalmudgeon wrote: > Yes I certainly will Rayne!!!
