Guest guest
> Tomorrow I'm going out to lunch at the Japanese restaurant. Not much luck > in finding accurate nutritional info The only Japanese restaurant I had ever been in in my life was called Kobe Steak House, adn it was one of those places where you chose waht you wanted and the chef would stand there and cook it on the griddle in front of you, doing all the fancy flips and tosses. If you already know apx. how many calories are in a certain size hunk of meat or the veggies you can approximate what's being cooked. The entree itself probably won't be that much, especially if it's just meat & veggies, but watch out for your dessert & drink choices. so I'm just going to SWAG it and limit > my calories for the rest of the day to 1000. Sound ok? Do you think you're going to be eating/drinking 1000 calories worth there? Sue in NJ

This isn't a Japanese steak house, just a regular Japanese restaurant with sushi bar. No one yelling or flipping. Nice ambience. Quiet and a nice place to read. > much, especially if it's just meat & veggies, but watch out for your dessert I always get iced tea (use sweet n low AND equal and I don't get dessert. > Do you think you're going to be eating/drinking 1000 calories worth there? Here's what I've found on the internet: Tempura: 3 prawns and veggies 320 18 grams fat Miso soup: 85 calories 3 grams of fat Maki: per piece 70 calories 1 gram of fat I also get soup with some kind of dressing. I get cucumber maki which is cucumber and rice rolled in a seaweed wrapper. It's 6 pieces but I doubt it is 70 calories per piece because it only has cucumber and rice inside. Say 50 calories each so that's 300 calories. Say the salad dressing is 200 calories and I'm up to 900 give or take. I think limiting the rest of the day to 1000 sounds good. That might be a good plan whenever I go out to eat and can't really figure out the calories. Well, unless it's Tex Mex then I can have 3 calories the rest of the day and I have to walk on the treadmill for 7 hours. I'm pulling a Sue and gaining weight on 2000 calories a day this week. Ugh! I know our weight fluctuates day to day so I'm just going to stick with my plan and see what happens on Monday for official weigh in. I know Sue is going to tell me not to weigh during the week but I weigh pretty much every morning. I'll do 20 min. on the treadmill today. My knees are sore from skating but not too bad. I have a ton of stuff to do today. I have to clean out my van so I can take a load of Girl Scouts to the library for a tour this afternoon. We have a wonderful library that is only about 2 years old and we'll get a behind the scenes tour. Hopefully the girls will find it interesting. Have a healthy day! Never been to one of those, and you'll never get me to eat raw fish! They've changed the interior around a bit, and over the years added just one extension, but it's still an interesting place to visit, especially when they take you to the workrooms behind the scenes. Make sure they all take home an application for a library card for their parents to fill out! Sue in NJ - bibliophile
Guest guest
Hi Aggie, hang in there!!! I'm in my fourth week and feeling better. The drug is quite subtle. Probs are still there but I am able to cope better, and no anxiety attacks. Just hope this one doesn't stop working like Zoloft. Take care, Barb Aggie <agathea@...> wrote:Oh, what a flat day I'm having today...and yesterday too. The main thing at the moment seems to be lack of motivation and a couple of intrusive thoughts. Guest guest
Give it another week and if it doesn't improve I would ask for a increase in dose. It can take a while for the full effect of the meds though. Just keep thinking it's not your fault that you have no motivation...it's the depression. That helps me sometimes. My psychologist told me to go out and get sunlight in my eyes and that would do wonders. At first I thought he was an idiot. But when I go out bike riding with my kids, I feel great! Of course that is hard to do when you aren't motivated to do anything. Just try and hang in there! :-) > Oh, what a flat day I'm having today...and yesterday too. Guest guest
Hi I was wondering if it had anything to do with need to increase the dose....but yeah, I need to give the meds a chance to kick in with the full effect. I'm really looking forward to that! I'm thinking that if I do need an increase I would try 15mg instead of going straight to 20. I'd see what the doctor thought, though, obviously. Thanks for the encouragement. Talking about all this and hearing about the experience of others sure helps. Guest guest
Thanks, I'm certainly trying to! What's the 4th week like compared to one or 2 weeks in? Yeah, I know what you mean about coping better and no anxiety. My anxiety has gone but the experiences of the last 2 days (today's better) shows me that the depression is harder to shake. I hope they continue to work for you, and I hope I settle in to them soon. Aggie' Re: Day 14 Hi Aggie, hang in there!!! I'm in my fourth week and feeling better. The drug is quite subtle. Guest guest
I asked my Dr. which is better, Zoloft or Lexapro; he didn't really hesitate to say Lexapro. I like to know their opinion on such, although another might say the exact opposite.
