Good Evening,

I am a nurse in the Texas Peer Assistance Program for Nurses (TPAPN).

DOC is alcohol. I have been following the post for the past several

months and have learned a wealth of knowledge/information from this

site. Thanks for sharing your experiences. I have been testing for

about 10 months and have not tested positive YET, but it is a concern.

Is there anyone from Texas that has experience with TPAPN and knows

where this organization stands in regards to Etg levels and the cutoff.

>I was in TPAPN until I had a positive EtG of 379ng/dl. I never had any

positive until then I haven't had a drink in 10 years and have been

clean for 5 years. TPAPN said nothing about this test until then. The

accepted cutoff is 500ng/dl but TPAPN uses 250ng/dl. The use of hand

santizer can cause a positive EtG, as well as many food products. The

250 cutoff is indiscriminate. TPAPN figures they will catch everyone

and let the attorneys figure it out. I am currently contesting the

results with the aid of a good attorney with experience dealing with

TPAPN, BNE, and EtG. For more on EtG try this site

http://www.ethylglucuronide.com/. This site is maintained by the

doctor that brought EtG to the USA, Dr Skipper.

I am also in TPAPN and have created a group " tpapnsupport " to talk about

specific TPAPN issues. I have also tested positive for EtG in the past and have

gone throught the BNE referral, hiring an attorney, and now back in TPAPN route.

I have alot of experience I would like to share as well as offer and get support

from other TPAPN participants. Please search for my group and join.
