Guest guest
I think everyone is tired and just waiting for their completion date. can you sleep at nite I am very disturbed with this group over the last month. There should be 500 postings a week on this site. There should be a frenzy of activity that was heartofore unheard of. There is a group of people who participate on this site who know the battle is over. Since August when the Swedish study was published the use of etg testing has been indefensible. Every day these large commercial labs continue to offer this test the larger the liability grows. So the wonderful courageous long-suffering experts on this website are now silient......because of class action money. dr.dan2
Guest guest
hi there folks I am still around , It would be nice if on the advise of attys that there should not be public discourse on the subject and that at least the baton should be passed on to someone else to be our moderator and be able to add to files or do some polls ect..pump it up ..guess we are on our own !! any suggestions to get this membership fired up again?? I would like a roll call to look at what some of the states have been doing and if there has been any changes , the ones in the lawsuit may know ,so if anyone gets contacted back channel and let us all in on it!! I am in NH , I know there was an article on using the scram bracelet , don't know if that means we can assume that the test is being phased out.my case is over almost , I no longer am being tested but I would just love to say I told you so......and at least vindicate myself and tall all those assholes who stole my daughter I will never forget..See what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage. Guest guest
I don't know what has caused the decrease in activity, but I for one will speak freely always! I hope you are right that the battle is over, because I start probation soon, and may have to face more EtG testing.
Guest guest
That is what the labs and boards are hoping!!
Guest guest
sadly DD2 the labs do not agree with you...firstlab.com is completely ignoring this small sweedish study as are all other labs preferring the status quo for obvious reasons...ethylglucuronide.com and SAMHSA have not meaningfully changed their posistions simply suggesting more EtS confirms.as i said some time ago it may take a large sponsored confirmatory study that bacteria in urine make EtG(and EtS) to kill EtG.so ,at least for today ,the bell is still tolling for us,not EtG which is alive and well. EtG can be detected in the blood for up to 36 hours and in the urine for up to 5 days after heavy alcohol use. A positive finding of EtG in urine of an individual provides strong evidence that the person recently consumed alcohol, even if the alcohol itself is no longer detectable. Therefore, this compound is regarded as a biomarker of alcohol consumption and, potentially, relapses of alcohol use by an individual who is under restriction. Other biomarkers of alcohol use can be problematic since they can be influenced by age, gender, a variety of other substances and non-alcohol-associated disease. Fermentation may lead to false positives for alcohol since glucose and yeast may be present in the urine. This is especially possible if a urine sample is stored or shipped without refrigeration in warm weather. Since EtG is only created during the metabolism of alcohol, there is no potential for a wrong result due to external contamination. nramo <danramo@...> wrote: I am very disturbed with this group over the last month. Guest guest
Why then do the MRO's refer to perfumes, soaps etc as possible causes of a positive EtG?
Guest guest
Hi guys, long time since i have written, but I do believe that people are tired and just waiting to get out. I successfully completed my probation here in California on 10/16. I am now free of EtG fear. I had 2 positives, one low (240) the other 1300 (from albuterol inhaler) I am just happy to have made it through, I have to admit. Good luck to all of you still working hard. -- In Ethylglucuronide , " Dr. Hansen " <dr.rob@...> wrote: > > I think everyone is tired and just waiting for their completion date. > > can you sleep at nite > > I am very disturbed with this group over the last month. Guest guest
Oh, I meant to mention....per probation in California, Etg IS the gold standard (in their eyes) and not going anywhere soon..... > > I don't know what has caused the decrease in activity, but I for one will speak freely always! Guest guest
now dont get yur Knickers in a knot Liz .. we all have our days and we all have our ways .. seeing you like to look at the bright side of life you can perhaps interject with a kind word .. I am happy for you that you can be there but have a lttle tolerance ... > > Do you have anything positive to say, or just gloom. As far as not going anywhere soon, I wouldn't be so sure. Where do you get your " Inside Information " from? >
Guest guest
Sorry it took so long to reply...but i got my information from our group facilitator that met about a week and a half ago with the Ca probation monitors and the people from Maximus. It is what they had told him, that even if other states are stopping it, it is still considered the Gold Standard and he quoted them.....not trying to be doom and gloom. I lived with Etg through my 3 years of probation, and had two positives. I was in the same seat as you. I am just being realistic. > > Do you have anything positive to say, or just gloom. Guest guest
Liz...what i was saying was not meant to be doom and gloom, it was the reality of what the BRN in CA believes right now, and if that is the case, then yes, we need to get uplifted and motivated to keep the fight up....I am with you 100% > > You're right, I just dislike the gloom and doom for others philosophy. I feel it enough for myself. We are all well aware of the negative side of this whole thing, we need to encourage and uplift as much as possible. >
