Guest guest
, on that note have you tried almond oil baths for the eczema? I use it in my wipes recipe and bathe baby in it. When I run out he gets diaper rash and heat rash and doesn't have as nice of skin, I think. Ecxema is a common side effect of vaccines, it's too bad most doctors don't admit it and use steroids to treat it. Also have you tried a table spoon of flax seed oil on cereal once a day? Dawn Re: Fruit Juice > When I was directed to this list, I was told I would learn all about > vaccines AND health related issues. I am also on a eczema list. What I > dont want to read I delete. Guest guest
Hi Dawn, I will give the almond oil a try, thanks! Yes we are giving the Flax seed, but he seems to be reacting to it. I am so upset. He has tested IgE reactive to fish, so he cant get the Omega 3's from there either. We are going to try swordfish in his rotation diet, and watch him carefully. Because he is reacting to the flax seed, I cant include it in is rotation diet. I will reintroduce it to him tho'. thanks again,
Guest guest
, thank you for all of the incredible information on organic foods. I live in Wellsville, NY. I will definitely look into places where I can get organic foods. My son is really picky right now and won't eat much of anything. I don't want him to turn out to be a junk-food junky. He doesn't like veg. or fruit. He usually likes applesauce and an occasional banana. Maybe I just need more ideas on how to cook?? I just bought the book SuperFood Baby but I have a long way to go!! Thanks for your help. Marcie
Guest guest
How about oatmeal with a HUGE dolap of applesauce on it? My daughter digs into the applesauce and before long she is eating the oatmeal and doesn't taste the difference. also, the La Lech Leag. has some great cookbooks. I have made org. orange muffins (small) then freeze them for different treats or diff. breakfasts. How about trying melons, blueberries (nice finger food)....Just keep introducing them. eventually, when no other items are introduced they start liking the treats (healthy food) Dlfnluvr@... wrote: > > From: Dlfnluvr@... > > , thank you for all of the incredible information on organic foods. Guest guest
does anyone have any data on fruit juice and etg?
Guest guest
, There is the study from Dahl and Helander where two people in a placebo group drinking grape juice had positives: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi? cmd=Retrieve & db=pubmed & dopt=Abstract & list_uids=12814902 & query_hl=2 & ito ol=pubmed_docsum Also, there is an article called 'The Drunken Monkey' where it states ripe and over ripe fruits contain alcohol: " The place to begin is the relation between ripe fruit and alcohol. Yeasts that occur on fruit consume sugar molecules in the fruit as a source of energy, in a process known as anaerobic fermentation ( " anaeroxygen). As the fruit ripens, and the yeast enzymes get going, the ethanol content of the fruit rises rapidly. For example, the unripe fruit of the Astrocaryum palm contains no ethanol; ripe hanging fruit is about 0.6 percent ethanol by weight; overripe fruit, often fallen to the ground, can have an ethanol content of more than 4 percent. " I believe in one of Wurst's articles it actually states that incidental alcohol (fruit juices, non-alcoholic beverages, cakes, etc.) need to be considered. I know I saw the mention of fruit juices specificlly somewhere....I would need to look up which article that one was. > > does anyone have any data on fruit juice and etg? >
Guest guest
I neglected to say there is, of course, NO research to my knowledge in specific on fruits or juices affect on Etg as with any other incidental use. Only that they are POSSIBLITIES and that alcohol does exist in friuts. jessicalwalkerbsn@...> wrote: > > does anyone have any data on fruit juice and etg? >
Guest guest
The 2004 Weinmann et al article makes direct reference to the possibility of fruit juices causing positives: "Even low amounts of ethanol in the range of 1 to 2 g, which could be ingested with "alcohol-free" beverages, pharmaceutical preparations containing ethanol, or by food containing low amounts of ethanol (e.g., cakes, fruit juices) could give rise to low urine EtG concentrations; Therefore, to overcome the potential of "false positive" results due to the high sensitivity of the LC-MS/MS method, further studies must include the definition of cut-off values for EtG determination for diagnostic purposes." >> does anyone have any data on fruit juice and etg?>
Guest guest
It's better for the grains to use the regular water, but I like to add some fruit juice to the finished kefir. Add 1 cup grape juice to 2 cups finished and strained water kefir, allow to stand for an additional 24-48 hours and you will have a nice grape soda. -------------------------------------------------- From: <econurbs@...> Sent: Saturday, November 27, 2010 1:00 PM < > Subject: Fruit Juice > Wondering if water can b replaced by fruit juice.
