Besides the diabetes issue, taking an antibiotic can increase yeast....could cause an increase in endogenous alcohol. thanks , . this is kind of personal but I am desperate to find the truth so speaking of yeast, I am constantly using monistat for frequent yeast infections caused by high blood sugars. maybe a combination of elevated sugars and yeast inf is what caused such a hi level of etg. I wish there were more studies and believe me I am searching diligently to find as much info. as possible. hey Carol....from what i've seen here, the MRO'S aren't very knowledgeable regarding etg testing. , there are some web sites on yeast infections...and there is a Dr. Marjorie Crandall (I think that's her name) ....I e-mailed her about the possiblity of yeast causing positive Etg's about a year ago. She didn't know anything about Etg but said that ethanol is definitly a by-product of yeast infections and sometimes having frequent vaginal or urinary yeast infections is a sign of increased systemic yeast or yeast overgrowth in other areas of the body(particularly gut).
