So that said What about the fact that everybody else is using it are you supposed to stop breathing?? I was at a children's hospital today and there are Purell hand sanitizers everywhere..I mistook one for the soap so I should be condemned for that? There are hand sanitizers as I enter work and as I enter the cafeteria...hold your breath don't breathe..turn blue they are turning up everywhere!!!

Hi ,

Sounds like you need to sit down and have a talk with the nurse manager.

All you can do is promise extra vigilence with the soap and water

regimen. It's similar in nature to the latex allergy that Ian mentioned

recently...inconvenient and 'not fair'...but that's life, huh?

Lorie What are you talking about TALK TO YOUR MANAGER WHO KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT THIS TEST NOR DO THEY HAVE THE TIME OR INCLINATION TO LEARN ABOUT IT ..inconvenient and 'not fair' is not how I would describe it....

THIS IS INSANITY!!

Sorry just letting out a bit of frustration

oh Lorie ~ I wasn't implying that it was stupid advice and I'm sorry if you took my comment to mean that. I know that there are many in the healthcare field who do not know of this test nor do they really care. I, in fact, have been subject to this several times and others have also expressed the same. In fact a Dr, friend of mine, also said that it was impossible that the cough medicine that I took caused a positive..as I tried to explain way back in the early stages of this nightmare he kind of dismissed me..that was all that I was saying . I do not know this manager, maybe he/she has an open mind and a listening ear..I just haven't found those kind of people yet.

Re: SO NOW WHAT...as of JAN. 1st my employer will require use of waterless hand wash

Sorry you thought that was such stupid advice. Nobody who hasn't been

personally touched by this test would know anything about it and that

shouldn't be held against them. I don't know that her manager hasn't the

time or inclination to learn about it. Educating the manager seemed the

obvious solution to me.
