hi n, spiriva uses methanol and has no ethanol hence makes no EtG...methanol is wood alcohol or grain alcohol and is pretty toxic stuff if you check it out so i really could not say it was totally safe but simply that it will not make ethyl glucuronide...might make small amounts of methyl glucuronide though...regards,r The active component of SPIRIVA is tiotropium. The drug substance, tiotropium bromide monohydrate, is an anticholinergic with specificity for muscarinic receptors. It is chemically described as (1a, 2ß, 4ß, 5a,

7ß)-7-[(Hydroxydi-2-thienylacetyl)oxy]-9,9-dimethyl-3-oxa-9-azoniatricyclo[3.3.1.02,4] nonane bromide monohydrate. It is a synthetic, non-chiral, quaternary ammonium compound. Tiotropium bromide is a white or yellowish white powder. It is sparingly soluble in water and soluble in methanol. nilesclay <nilesclay@...> wrote: Okay folks, need another med question answered. I have gone off of the albuterol, now on spiriva....it isn't based in propellent, it is powder med. Is this safe to take? I know I am paranoid! Thanks
