It has to do with the difference in the absorption of alcohol with diet

mixer vs. sugar mixer. Alcohol absorption is always greatly increased on

an empty stomach or in a hungered state. Diet drinks have no nutritional

value (i.e. sugar). But don't let 'em fool you...It's still the alcohol

that's getting you drunk, not the choice of mixers.

No, no...I wasn't insinuating that. My point was that the ALCOHOL is

always required to get the person drunk. That ain't gonna happen with

just the mixer (with or without artificial sweetener).

a. Alcohol is oxidized in the liver. b. It is a continuous process c. Whereas excess food is stored away as fat for future use, alcohol is not set aside and circulates with blood flow until fully metabolized. The only way for alcohol to leave the system is by metabolic breakdown, a process that is linear over time. oxidation of alcohol is linear only so long as sugar(glucose) is present...if artificial sweetener from diet drinks is present instead more etoh blood circulation to brain more drunker longer...regards,rLorie <saclorie@...> wrote: No, no...I wasn't insinuating that. anything that blocks etoh liver oxidation will make you drunker longer...regards,rLorie <saclorie@...> wrote: Not that I'm aware of. >> and are you saying also that artificial sweeteners don't have an effect on > the liver in combo with Tylenol or alone,,,>
