Guest guest
Dani what you really lack is competent clinical correlation. If you are working a good program and all other history lab is good the test must fall as a false positive according to everyone in national authority. From Dr Skipper's site... With regards to EtG it is going to be difficult to set a cutoff that will eliminate the neccessity of using clinical judgement. This is because there is no clear limit to what level of ethanol exposure could be attributed to "incidental exposure." For example, in one case a doctor admitted adding an entire bottle of vanilla to his coffee each morning. Would this be incidental exposure?) His level was 820. In another case, communion wine was blamed, which allegedly was consumed almost daily. Therefore it will be difficult to ever set a meaningful cutoff that will absolutely exclude incidental exposure. In practice, programs that have less capability and/or flexibility to utilize clinical judgement should seek a higher cutoff of 250, 500, or 1,000 Gee, le, did that MRO happen to be Martha Brown? That was basically my experiencce with her. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~Keep The Faith~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~ Eva> > From: le Glenn <rndani@...>> Subject: Chemistry question> Ethylglucuronide> Date: Monday, July 21, 2008, 7:20 PM> > I had a pelvic MRI with contrast on May 19th, I also had to test that day. I was just notified by the CA BRN probation that I had a positive ETG above the 500 cut off. This is the first time in over 6 years I have had a positive above the cutoff. I called the MRI dept where I had the test done and was told they used the Omniscan( gadodiamide) injection for my MRI. I have researched it but am not sure what I'm reading. The ingrediants of gadodiamide are carboxymethyl, methylamino adn 2-oxoethyl. Anyone know if this could cause a positive ETG???? If I can prove the contrast caused the positive they will accept that and I will not be disciplined.> Thank you for your help> le> > > > > > > > > > ------------ --------- --------- ---> The Famous, the Infamous, the Lame - in your browser.
