Guest guest
That is how I feel too. When I talk in my support meetings, I always list sanity as # 1. No one understands what it is like to have this happen to them, until it happens. I always think of allthe inocent people in prison, theat were prosecuted with false testing. ie before DNA. --- Marsha Dienelt <marshadienelt@...> wrote: > I hear ya, Judy, lud & clear. > Marsha > > Judy <floridajudy@...> wrote: > Last week my number came up for a random > urine test - never the best > news in the world. Guest guest
Yes, " staying sober IS a piece of cake c/t staying sane... " I am also SUPER paranoid, ALL the time, ANY time my phone rings, etc., every time I call the 800 # in the am to see if I have to test, etc. My husband and friends think I am truly Overdoing it, but they do not understand, and as people have said, you don't until IT HAPPENS TO YOU...I have gotten tested EVERY week for the last SIX frickin weeks, and I am in the LAST THREE WEEKS OF MY TRANSITION, go figure (SUPPOSEDLY, as I pray each day that nothing will happen to yank that light at the end of the tunnel away from me again...(as they DO etg on EVERY test with Maximus). I am waitning for 2 outstanding test results, and I count down the days that the odds get less and less that there will be a problem. At 2 weeks post test I am pretty safe... I feel I have gotten used to and good at living with dissappointment and being powerless against a corrupt system, so I truly don't expect ANYTHING anymore. It will be very surreal if I DO in fact get let out of this hell in three weeks...). But its not about ME, I just wanted to empathize with you Judy, I would have had a frickin heart attack waiting on hold for the frickin ENEMY lab mf's to ask me for MORE frickin MONEY!!! And I don't know HOW we can NOT be paranoid, since it has been PROVEN that the most outrageous sh*t can and DOES happen to the BEST of us... Take care, glad it was nothing... Guest guest
Hi I would say just lucky. Last week in my professional meeting several people were saying that they received letters about low creatinine and someone who is new to monitoring started getting nervous. I piped in and said I have been in the program for 2 years always test in the afternoon and drink a gallon of water a day and at least 6 cups of coffee and I have never had a problem. As luck would have it I got a low creatinine letter 3 days later informing me that my last two tests were low. The irony is it is the only time in 2 years I tested in the morning only drinking a couple of cups of coffee & very little water. I called my case worker right away. He said it was just to make me aware. However the form letter states that another low MAY indicate relapse and hold diciplinary results. I told him that it is a shame that something I cant control, how much creatinine my kidneys excrete has the potential to be as harmful to my future as a positive drug test. I can control not picking up a drug or a drink... > > > > Last week my number came up for a random urine test - never the > best > > news in the world. Guest guest
Hi guys, I stay away from ANY fruit juice before testing, cause of rumor of the " fermentation " risk, and seem to have had good luck with drinking milk in some form before I test (I eat a lot of cereal) and because of the high protein content, it keeps the creatine up; Obviously in the heat of July that is no good, and many people don't like milk, but besides that I just suffer and keep myself ultra dehydrated for 4 hours before I test. " They say, " that if you don't drink or pee for 4 hours before you test, you will be fine. I make it 5 just to be safe, and since I started this practice i haven't had a problem (I had 2 " out of ranges " over the course of 2 years, last one in January and they tested me three frickin times back to back afterward, so I make damn sure never to do that again). I'd rather be pruned and resentful. And hi Robin, you are definately among friends here. It still blows my mind how many of us are out there getting f*ck*d by this damn test. Sorry for the bitter attitude, I just had to put my beloved 16 year old dog to sleep last night kind of suddenly (though I knew it was coming, just not that fast) and don't have much reserve for anything else, particularly how the system is still screwing so many of us. But realistically, this group is not a bitch session, is absolutely awesome, totally about solution, and has been a huge help in keeping me sane during this etg hell...Welcome! Guest guest
Hi Chris I got called again this saturday. The only thing i drank was an 8 0z coffee. Our monitoring company says drink no more than 12oz of fluid so we shall see.. > > > > > > Last week my number came up for a random urine test - never the > > best > > > news in the world. Guest guest
Overripe fruit (including fresh fruit juices) have the potential to ferment, creating alcohol as a byproduct. I was told if I ate a kilo of grapes, I might have ingested enough to have a positive EtG. In the WSJ article, Dr. Hoffman (of SAMHSA) stated that a carton of apple juice left a long time in the refrigerator could conceivably produce a positive EtG test. > > > > > > > > Last week my number came up for a random urine test - never the > > > best > > > > news in the world. Guest guest
I believe it is a SAMHSA requirement that creatinine be measured with any drug test. Have you seen the actual lab reports? In light of the Advisory, EtG results as the SOLE EVIDENCE of relapse will NOT hold up in court. What is your lawyer telling you about this? > > when I was called I had 20 minutes to an hour to report to the lab....I was > never told a damn thing about anything at any time about this test..I also was > never tested for creatine ..it was if you cant pee now you will have to wait > until you can,,most times it was hard to reach the line on the bottle...I > have been getting my own ETOH tests and they will not accept them still..I have > 2 weeks till the total loss of my child..they have all info we have > sent..its a nitemare...I feel for all of you out there ,,what more can we do ??? the > agency's don't seem to care about recent developments..I am pursuing a class > action ..but money cannot and will not repair the damage to my being able to > have any kind of relationship with my child..not to mention the daily anxiety > that I feel that has affected my personal relationships.. Guest guest
I think they can do a dip stick if they're doing a quick test. But since yours are sent to LabOne, they should be on those reports. > > yes I have some of the reports and I see no mention..don't they measure that > when you pee..if that's the case they have NOT >
Guest guest
CPS may be corrupt, but the courts STILL have the power to step in and make a ruling. I hope your lawyer worded his letter powerfully. For example, my lawyer cited specific legal cases, saying that "...the thing [EtG test results] from which the deduction [consumption of alcoholic beverage] is made must be sufficiently established to have gained general acceptance in the particular field in which it belongs." He went on to say that it should be clear that EtG testing is not sufficiently reliable to serve as a basis for license discipline and requested immediate withdrawal of the revocation petition and license suspension. This is what made THE difference in my case. >> he sent off the advisory last week ..still nothing..his wording was " > enclosed for informational purposes relative to the growing concern about the > accuracy of ETG testing is a copy of the report from the substance abuse treatment > advisory" he also sent kevins October 5 article Its a very corrupt system > CPS and like I said they are not accountable to anyone...and NO I never was > asked if I was on any med's and I was not never tested for creatine..my urine > was yellow....we are still waiting for the toxicologist to call about that > letter CPS wrote,we are hoping it will jog his memory..but the way its written > I have my doubts that she even called cause it seems so verbatim to the labs > write ups selling the test..plus she was supposed to ask about other tests > like CDT....all of the judges rulings were based on this test...the way I am > seeing it ,is its up to the courts how they choose to read the results..so > what has changed..>
Guest guest
> yes I have some of the reports and I see no mention..don't they measure that when you pee..if that's the case they have NOT > I have some of my lab results and everyone has the creatinine value. But when I requested all my lab results from Jan. 2005 they now have a new policy that they won't send them to me , but to a alcohol and drug counslor. But another person in my group requested and sent $5.00 and recieved their results. Something smells funning is Ks.
