World AIDS Day - make a difference

Dear Friend:

Next Monday, the world

will commemorate World AIDS Day. It is

a day to reflect on the ravages of the AIDS pandemic which killed 3

million people this year

alone. It is also an opportunity to recognize the difference that we've

made in the fight against AIDS and to rededicate ourselves to action. I

hope that you will take a moment to consider making a contribution to

the Global AIDS Alliance to help us in the fight against AIDS.

Through the efforts of

thousands of people across the United

States

working with the Global AIDS Alliance

and our partners, we have nearly doubled the funding for programs to

fight Global AIDS in the past year. The

work of activists around the world has put lifesaving treatment within

the reach of millions of people by cutting the daily cost of medicine

below the cost of a daily newspaper.

There is still much more

to be done in order to beat back the AIDS pandemic and turn this new

hope into actual treatment. AIDS

is now spreading rapidly across Latin

America and Asia

as well as Africa

and the CIA predicts as many as 100 million infections by the end of

the decade. We have no time to lose in redoubling our efforts and

pushing to increase AIDS funding to meet the actual need of millions of

people around the world.

I want to invite you to

join us on World AIDS Day by becoming a contributing member of the Global AIDS Alliance.

The UN Special Envoy on AIDS in Africa,

, has called GAA " an indispensable voice for

truth. " Join the Global AIDS Alliance in working for real

solutions to AIDS.

We need your help so that

we will have real progress in the fight against AIDS to celebrate next
