Guest guest
Thanks Henny! I'll shoot them off a nasty letter, since that's the only way I am able to deal with my frustration over this. Did you read the FAQ's? "The presence of EtG in urine is a definitive indicator that alcohol was ingested." And how about this one: "Acts as an early warning system to detect trends towards relapse." HUH? If it's a true positive, it IS a relapse, not a "trend towards" one! But I did find ONE statement I liked: "As is the case with any lab test, it is also very important to obtain clinical correlation." At least they mentioned it...... Lorie New EtG testing facility in Northern California I read the following new article a couple of weeks ago and thought you all might be interested: Redwood Toxicology Laboratory Announces EtG Testing Solution for Detection of Alcohol SANTA ROSA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 4, 2006--Redwood Toxicology Laboratory (RTL) today announced it now offers urine ethyl glucuronide (EtG) testing. EtG is an alcohol metabolite that remains in the body and is detectable in urine for up to 80 hours after the elimination of alcohol. EtG is only evident when alcohol is consumed and is not produced as a result of fermentation. EtG testing is ideal for zero tolerance and abstinence situations in the drug and alcohol treatment industry. Standard urine alcohol testing currently used by most treatment programs does not allow for the accuracy and extended detection window that EtG testing provides. By utilizing liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS), the most sophisticated equipment and technology available, RTL is able to provide accurate and reliable results. Mount, RTL's Chief Executive Officer, stated, "Many of our customers require a more sensitive test for the detection of alcohol use. RTL responded to customer demand by developing an affordable and reliable EtG test. We will continue to develop toxicology technologies to provide our customers with the most comprehensive drug testing programs available." Guest guest
Wonder how they're able to offer it so cheap....$24.95 a test? I just finished doing some more inpatient testing and it was $74 a test, just for an EtG/EtS panel. Guest guest
Thanks, Henny. This makes my absolutely SICK!! " EtG is only evident when alcohol is consumed and is not produced as a result of fermentation. " I feel like NOTHING has changed!! People are being hurt by this and this continues to be the way Etg is marketed! Have there REALLY been studies to DISPROVE auto- fermentation? I KNOW I had NOTHING that would have produced a postive Etg, but ate pizza the night right before I tested..and STILL believe it is from that! " Many of our customers require a more sensitive test for the detection of alcohol use. RTL responded to customer demand by developing an affordable and reliable EtG test. " How can they call this a reliable test when EVERYONE agrees more research needs to be completed! This is a monster. Many people HAVE been hurt already be this test...WHEN will it STOP?? My lawyer calls me yesterday and said PA offered a 'deal'....one year suspension, then three more years in the DMU. FAT CHANCE!!! I have done NOTHING to willinging violate my contract! I am ready and able to take this as far as it goes...actually looking forward to goin to can actual court of law with this! Some days it takes EVERY thing I have to stay focused on serenity through all of this! Just needed to vent! Guest guest
"EtG is only evident when alcohol is consumed and is not produced as a result offermentation". greg this is a patently false statement but what the labs are marketing..what pig slop... EtG is always produced as a result of fermentation which is the only way alcohol is produced,by fermentation, weather exposure,inhalation,auto-fermentation or consumption EtG cannot tell the difference... there is a class action suit to get them to stop this crap but in the meantime we must oppose with scientific data..retaining a toxicology expert might be good to support the position that "EtG cannot diagnose the medical condition known as relapse beyond a reasonable medical certainty"...that is the crux of your case...a good addiction doctor in recovery might also be able to help for me one of the best www.addictiondoctor.com regards,rgtcook242 <gtcook242@...> wrote: This is who tested me - they use a 100ng/ml cutoff.Greg C>> I read the following new article a couple of weeks ago and thought you> all might be interested: Redwood Toxicology Laboratory Announces EtG> Testing Solution for Detection of Alcohol SANTA ROSA, Calif.--(BUSINESS> WIRE)--April 4, 2006--Redwood Toxicology Laboratory (RTL) today> announced it now offers urine ethyl glucuronide (EtG) testing. Guest guest
This is who tested my daughter-in-law. They have been doing this test for about a year. If you google ETG, they are the first on the list. This is about money.gtcook242 <gtcook242@...> wrote: This is who tested me - they use a 100ng/ml cutoff.Greg C>> I read the following new article a couple of weeks ago and thought you> all might be interested: Redwood Toxicology Laboratory Announces EtG> Testing Solution for Detection of Alcohol SANTA ROSA, Calif.--(BUSINESS> WIRE)--April 4, 2006--Redwood Toxicology Laboratory (RTL) today> announced it now offers urine ethyl glucuronide (EtG) testing.
