Ohhhh so sorry Sharon, That has to hurt!! My mom got the shingles and she was not a happy camper at all. She too went to the doctor got the meds for it. But it took about a week for it to get to the controllable stage. Hers were on her back and stomach. I would hate to think what they would be like in the mouth. Ouchie!!! Bless your heart. I hope you have a good blender so that you can make the food soft. Lots of pudding and broth should help. Blisters in my mouth prevent chewing or hot foods or liquids. AARRGGHH I've got meds for it, but all takes time. I'm using warm salt water rinses and have some lidacain to mix with benadryl that helps a little with the pain. Otherwise, I'm having a good month of treatment. lol Sneaky viruses, they sneak in while the immune system is busy elsewhere. Sharon Take the ordinary things of life, and make them your own. I've had shingles around my waistline and this is worse. As luck would have it, I picked up a handout at the drug store while waiting for my prescription. It says that older people are more likely to get shingles. Go figger!! As if just getting old isn't hard enough. lol

Anyway, herpies, chicken pox and shingles are all in the same group of viruses. I've had this in my mouth and nose and even in my eye before. It's painful, but doesn't last too long anyway.

I'm having yogurt for breakfast. lol ANOTHER good way to diet.
