Kim,

Alot of women have had more dental problems since having implants. I have heard from several women who had great teeth, then after getting ill from implants had terrible dental exams requiring root canals and other major dental work. I only had 4 filled cavities in my mouth when I got implants. Suddenly last year I had 6 cavities in one appointment! I was totally shocked. I am praying that I never hear my dentist tell me I need a root canal.

When I went to Washington DC to testify before the FDA Advisory panel, I roomed with a woman, and we ate a few meals together. I clearly remember her showing me her teeth after one broke off right there in the restaurant while we were eating. All her molars in the back look ground down to nubs. She was despondent over her dental health, and was limited to soft foods. Very sad.

I hope we none of us have to live with the prospect of ruined teeth because of implants, but, the truth is that some women have experienced it. Take care of them, especially if you have Sjogren's, (which I know you have not been diagnosed with, but you have some of the symptoms). Drink lots of water and keep your mouth moist.

I went to have a cavity fixed today and my dentist stared working on it when he stopped and said this is unusual. The cavity was going arond my tooth rather than up into my tooth. He said it very rarly happens, especially at 22 yrs. Is it from these fucking implants. Anyone else experience anything like it. How about very very sensitive teeth, anyone. Is that also from the implants. Will the implants make my teeth rot. I am so scared now. Also for people with Sjourens like syndrome, is there anyway to get rid of the blood vessels in the whites of the eyes that form from them being dry. Please help!!

Funny that you mention teeth, because I never thought I had problems from my implants, but I have had dental problems. A couple of years ago, half of my tooth fell off while I was eating candy. I'm not sure if the implants caused that, but you never know...*~Patty~* <fdp@...> wrote:
