Guest guest
" SD alcohol 40 " is specially denatured ethyl alcohol. I don't know what percentage alcohol is in hairsprays, but because it is usually the #1 or #2 ingredient on the label, I imagine it is high. From what the Purell study showed, its ability to cause a positive EtG would depend on how much you absorbed via inhalation. There are no studies on hairsprays to prove/disprove their ability to cause a positive EtG. > > I was styling my hair the other day and I became aware of the taste of > alcohol as I was spraying my hair with hair spray. Guest guest
I don't remeber if your in Pa or not I believe (99%) that options 1 and 6 are EtG if it was 27.00 it most llikely wasn't EtG Can inhalation of hair spray cause a false positive??? I was styling my hair the other day and I became aware of the taste of alcohol as I was spraying my hair with hair spray. THe suspect ingredients on the can are Dimethyl Ether and SD alcohol 40. Could either of these cause a positive EtG??? It was right before I had to go give a ROBS. My option was #7. Now I am really worried. Somebody had said once that option #7 might be a high level EtG. It cost 27.00 but doesn't the cost of the EtG test decrease as the sensitivity does. Also, what about laxatives and naprosyn. I have avoided taking Tylenol since hearing about this test. Took a couple of laxatives for constipation and some naprosyn for a headache because that was all that was available. Check out AOL.com today. Breaking news, video search, pictures, email and IM. Guest guest
I have had + screens on #2($42.00), #3 ($27.00), and #6 ($69.00), in PA, my friend had a + on #1($69.00). I am not sure if they were + for ETOH first then retested for EtG, but the end result was always +EtG. I do not know what tests have what??
