Hi, all...

I found some interesting bits of info while researching my story and thought I'd share it with you. Since most of you have this trait, you may well already know about all of this, but most of it was news to me!

One source says 1% of the population has heterochomia, and that if only one part of the eye is different (as opposed to two completely differently colored eyes) it is called heterochomia iridis. The causes can be hereditary (if one of your parents has it, your chances are 50/50 according to this source), it could be due to disease or an injury or from certain drugs (such as one of the eye drops used to treat glaucoma which often changes the color of the users eyes.) Oftentimes heterochromia is associated with skin that may have lighter patches, a shock of white (or lighter) hair above the forehead, and occasionally with hearing problems.

And I found a very interesting list of names of those who have (or are thought to have had) heterochomia: Bowie (of course), Kiefer Sutherland, Walken, Kate Bosworth, Jane Seymour, Aristotle, the Great, Gracie , Joe Pesci, and Louis Pasteur.

Sounds as if your eyes may well be a recipe for fame and fortune!
