I am Raychel. And like said (that's my little sister's name!)

I don't have heterochromia, but I think it's just about the coolest

thing ever. lol. The first person I ever saw with it was Kate

Bosworth, and then it was the little girl I baby sit. She's got

green eyes and in one of them, she's got a square of brownish. So

she's got heterochromia iridis. I know tons about it, so if ever

yall want more info, I wrote a whole research paper (that got a 598

out of 600!) just email me! Maybe i should just post it on the site!

Anyways, about me, um, I'm 14 and i'm a HUGE fan of Fefe Dobson and

I like music movies, and tv. So yeah, my life sorta just consists of

sitting on the couch. lol. i'm playing. I used to be in ballet, but

then i dislocated my knee and then got tendonitis in my foot, so I'm

just waiting until next year. Well, TRL is about to start, so I must

go!~Raych

One of my 11 month old twins has different colored eyes. I just

started looking into this condition. The pediatrician doesn't seemed

concerned since the hearing test he had when he was born was

excellent. Is there anything I should know? The internet gives

entirely too much information. Before my wife hits the Panic Button,

I told her I would try to find out what I could. Much to my

amazement, this group exists.

I would be grateful for any information/knowledge you can share with

me.

Thank You

Don't be alarmed, of all the reasons for this condition, all are

benign.

Common Reasons below:

familial heterochromia (autosomal dominant transmission)

Waardenberg syndrome (congenital and is autosomal dominant)

neuroblastoma (as a result of cervical sympathetic nerve compression)

pigmentary glaucoma

neurofibromatosis (may cause the affected iris to darken)

acquired heterochromia is a change in the color of the iris resulting

from trauma, hemorrhage, glaucoma, or intraocular foreign body.

Most of the time it is passed down, not because a parent has

heterochromia, but because parents have say one set of blue eyes, and

one set of brown. The child will have one of each parent. :) Basically

a brown eye is one which contains alot of pigment, and blue eyes(or

lighter colored eyes), have little, or sometimes no pigment.

If you like, U can add me to MSN:

That applies to anyone.

Peace...

What you are describing is basically the same thing that my parents

went through with me. When they noticed that my eyes were different

colors, they were afraid I was deaf. My hearing is fine, and I grew

from a healthy baby to a healthy adult. So don't worry! :)
