Guest guest
Yes, I'm from UK, one eye blue one eye brown. I'm 17 and my eyes have been like this for as long as I remember, apart from when I was born apparently I had two blue eyes- one eye changed over a period of time (i guess about the 1st two years of my life). I don't think eyes do change beyond that, I hope not anyway, I like having it. > > Hey everyone > I've been a member on here for a lil while now and have been enjoying reading all your > posts and comments. Guest guest
Hi I am from the UK, Yorkshire to be precise. I am just the same as you, one blue eye and one brown, and my brown eye has a little bit of blue in it. I was apparently born with blue eyes, one changed brown, my mum waited for the other to change but it didn't! I am 50 years old and my eyes show no sign of turning into 'normal' eyes! although, I have been told that if I am tired or unwell, my eyes do tend to look more noticable. I have had all the reactions you have had, plus some! I have been asked if i have a false eye, or am I a witch! I believe Bowie has different coloured eyes due to an accident as a youngster, so if anyone tells me I am like Daivd Bowie, I have pleasure in telling them my eyes are natural! I have also been told it is lucky, but like you, I am still waiting to win the lottery! I was always very self conscious of my eyes as I had never met anyone else with it. I didn't even know it had a name until I found this group last year. Now I have seen someone else with it, and also know there are a lot more people out there like me, I don't feel so bad about it. Guest guest
Thanks for the replies so far :-) Yeah apparently I was born with blue eyes too though the left one quickly changed to brown. I've never really noticed that the colours are more distinct when I'm ill or tired, though some days people remark they're much more striking than others. Mine are kinda odd in that I think theyre meant to be blue and that if you look close enough at the brown one you can kinda see the blue hiding behind it!! Yeah I heard that Bowie's eyes changed colour when he was 12 as he got punched in the eye. Apparently one of the main reasons for heterochromia is trauma. I'm guessing something must have happened when my mum was pregnant with me.. lol though the only 'trauma' she can recall is falling through a fence once! haha. My main memory from my childhood is being in the reception class and we were all sat on the carpet with our legs crossed. The teacher asked everyone with brown eyes to go one side of the room and everyone with blue to go the other. I obv remained sat down and when the teacher questionned why, I said I didnt belong in either group! I ended up standing with one leg in each group in a star like position. haha. I've never been self conscious about it really but its kinda awkward after someone goes 'oooh you have diff coloured eyes' and you're like 'um yeah' and then u just stand there!! haha. I like using it to test new boyfriends/love interests to see if they've asctually been payin attention to me!! one guy once completely threw me when i covered my eyes and asked him what colour they were. he promptly said 'the left ones brown and the right one's blue. They're amazing.' LOL anyways look forward to hearing from more of you! Guest guest
its time for us to get revenge on all the IDIOTS that do this stuff. I swear, when it comes to our eyes adults are worse than children who point at the fat guy at the store and say "mommy, mommy hes fat" What I like to do to these brilliant people is tell them that if you look closley you can see other colors almost wrapped around the pupil. Then when they get close to my face I pop out at them and scream, scares the $hi* out of em every time. One guy said he would do the same thing to girls and then kiss them when they got close. <biomed1975@...> wrote: I so feel the same way you guys do, the comments, at least the dumb ones get old. Guest guest
Until very recently, I've always worn colored contacts to hide it... before that I got picked on for it. Now I like my eyes - they're like army camo!
