Guest guest
Dear Friends, As many of you will be aware, WAC and ITPC have been working together on a letter for the G8 heads of state to address the lack of leadership in the AIDS treatment access, prevention, care and support scaling up. Please find this letter attached. We are now collecting the names of organisations that would like to support these asks. There were many specific asks and requests that we had to leave out – this was meant to be a general letter with only some headline asks included. For a listing of some of the concerns of campaigners in G8 countries check “what the g8 must do” on www.g8campaign.org. Many other organisations have great position papers on this, which can be found on a number of websites, including www.g8campaign.org This letter is for organisational sign-ons. We are not collecting the signatures of individuals. We do encourage all national groups or organisations to sign, even if they are part of a larger coalition that has already signed. Women’s groups, faith groups, labour groups, youth groups etc outside of the AIDS sector, but keen to support this work please add your names to the list. To sign on just send the name of your organisation together with the country of your office headquarters to signon@... Every week we will update the list of names on the letter and this can be seen on www.g8aidscampaign.org The letter will be officially “sent” on June 2nd, the Night of Solidarity, when German campaigners, supported by other countries, are planning a final last mobilisation before the G8 summit. It is also available for use over the Global Week of Action, May 20 – May 26.
