ACTION UPDATE

H.R. 1409—Assistance for Orphans and Other Vulnerable

Children in Developing Countries Act of 2005

The House

International Relations Committee (HIRC) unanimously approved H.R. 1409: Assistance

for Orphans and Other Vulnerable Children in Developing Countries Act of 2005.

The Bill will now move to the full House of Representatives for vote. An

identical bill, S. 350, has been introduced in the Senate by Senators Lugar and

Boxer.
