49ers Tackeling Debt with Jubilee

San Francisco 49ers Team Up with Jubilee USA Network

The San Francisco 49ers and Jubilee are teaming up to tackle global poverty

around the world. 49er alumni, Guy McIntyre, Sapolu, and

will be signing autographs and educating fans about debt cancellation at the

Jubilee booth in the Gold Mine in " F " Plaza on the December 16th game vs.

the Dolphins.

The San Francisco 49ers are the newest addition to a long line of

celebrities and public figures who have spoken up to free countries from

crushing and often illegitimate debts that continue to eat up desperately

needed resources for health and education in the poorest countries around

the world. They have joined Artists Against AIDS Worldwide, Bono of U2, and

Muhammad Ali as supporters of Jubilee.

In between scores and cheers for the San Francisco team, the matrix board

will flash Jubilee slogans like, " Join the 49ers and Jubilee: Kick the Debt

Out of Poor Countries! " Two autographed jerseys plus a number of 49er

give-away will be raffled and distributed to fans as a benefit for the

Jubilee USA Network.

" I like the 'kick the debt' message because it is a winnable answer to

global poverty. It is adding by subtracting by simply taking away the debt,

countries are able to tackle poverty, " commented Stew Heathcote, Marketing

Director for the 49ers.

Jubilee USA Network is honored to have this opportunity to get the word out

to the 68,000 49ers fans that will be at 3-Com Park Sunday. Marie e,

National Coordinator of Jubilee explains, " The call for debt cancellation

can be heard world wide. With the 49ers help, the 'kick the debt' chant will

only grow louder until 100% debt cancellation is realized. "

Fans can get involved in Jubilee at the local level to make a global impact

with the Bay Area Debt Cancellation Coalition, a part of the Jubilee USA

Network. Jubilee USA Network is the ongoing US wing of the international

Jubilee movement to cancel the debt of the Global South. Jubilee USA Network

is made up of more than sixty faith-based and non-governmental

organizations.
