My cost varied from 6-8.000 after insurance.   Make sure that the dr puts the

code in right or it does't pass the isurance right.  the insurance pays 80%

usually

Hi Everyone, I was wondering what the cost is for the scs? I know

that the costs are different for everyone. I just wanted to get a

general idea of what insurance covered and what was the out of pocket

cost.

Thanks everyone.

Looking at the cost the other members posted just answered my

question! I will stay on Meds and keep ongoing.

think I will call my insurance and find out what they will and will not

cover. Getting further into debt is something I really, really don't

Jo,

My cost of my SCS was from 6-8.000 after insurance.   the before insurance was

around50,000. give or take.  The DR was 4,000  plus the hospital.  It is quite

costly but it is worth it.\

Hello,

I was wondering the difference in price between the band and sleeve?

who do I contact to schedule the trip?

what do you need from me before I leave?

and what a time line from this initial contact.?

thanks

Hi Please read the board and see that so many of us say have the "sleeve" Here is Dr. Aceves Web Site with information that will help you contact them. http://www.gastricsleevesurgeon.com/index.html

I had my sleeve done 8 months ago and my fee for it was $9,500. That paid for everything by my air fare to and from San Diego. You need a little money for dinner the night before and tip money. With a band it was less, but please know that there is a lot of maintenance with a lapband--I think the band at that time was about $7,800. You have to have it filled an unfilled with the band and that cost runs $200 and up each time--so over a period of time it will cost as much or more than the sleeve surgery. Then you have to find a doctor in th US who will do it unless you live close to San Diego to go back to Dr. Aceves. There have been people with many problems with the band.

So if you want something that is permanent and is much better for your body, I would really consider having the sleeve. For me I wanted to be healthy. At some point this isn't about money, but what is best for you because you deserve to have the best you can. You are on the right track because you want Dr. Aceves to do the surgery.

I can't tell you time line because you will need to talk with Nina and I have no idea what their schedule is right now. Please come back to us with any question that you have. I hope this helped you.
