Guest guest
Luann. yes, I experience constant anxiety or at least I did before I started to take Lexapro. I am starting my 6th week and feel sooooo much better. That's not to say that I am not still having panic attacks, but they are becoming much further apart and are beginning to lessen in intensity. I was having several a day and there was a constant underlining feeling of anxiety. This past week I have only had one real hard day and the panic attacks are much more manageable. my anxiety and panic attacks were beginning to make getting through the day extremely difficult. Lexapro is the only drug that I have taken. It took several weeks before I saw improvement and in the beginning it seemed to be causing my panic attacks to become much more intense. I am so glad I stuck it out. Hope this helps Lynda > > Am I the only one in this group that has constant anxiety symptoms? > > I mean can I always be experiencing anxiety? Guest guest
I do at times. I was having it constantly for the last couple of months. I started taking Lex Thursday of last week. I also read a book by Emery on cognitive Behavior. I had to work a 4 day trade show this weekend. I have social anxiety and get real anxious in loud places. The trade show was a musical instrument show. Lots of people making all kinds of noise. Between taking a .5mg Xanax XR at night and one in the morning, and taking 5 mg Lexapro and doing a lot of praying and having friends pray for me, I got through it just fine. I did very well and while I had anxiety and mini-panic attacks at times. I shoved through them as the cognitive behavioral book tells you to and by the end of today, the last day of the show, I was pretty desensetised to may issues. It was a huge victory. I have noticed that since the second day of taking the Lexapro I have had my anxiety go down considerably and the depression that came with feeling anxious all the time over any little situation is gone. You need to go on about your daily routine and realize that anxiety is just a feeling. It is not reality and it's not dangerous. It may feel like it is but it isn't. Sometimes popping a Xanax is what you need to get through something, just remember that they can be adicting so I limit myself to 1 mg total in a 24 hour period and try to limit myself to .5mg normally. You can do this but you need to get mad at it and challenge it. Check out Emery's book. I don't remember the name but search Emery on Amazon. You'll get beyond this. > > Am I the only one in this group that has constant anxiety symptoms? > > I mean can I always be experiencing anxiety? Seems a little much don't cha think? Guest guest
Playing catchup with groups.... Yes, I had constant anxiety for several months before starting Celexa. The Celexa helped some but the sides were too much for me. I came off it after 14 months and two years later I was put on Effexor XR. Effexor has been a lifesaver for me. It gave me back my life. It gave me back " me " . Not every drug works for every person. We all react differently to the different drugs. Apparently I need a dual uptake inhibitor which Celexa and Lexapro are not. They control only seretonin while Effexor controls both seretonin and norepinephrine. That seemed to be the magic pill that I needed. I'm on only 75mg and have been for about year. I feel normal and have no sides from the drug at all that I'm aware of. It's worth it to do the trial and error thing. Most of us have to. When you find the one that works for you you'll be.... I don't know.....ecstatic? ;-) What AD's and such have you tried? Barbara ???? > Am I the only one in this group that has constant anxiety symptoms? > > I mean can I always be experiencing anxiety? Guest guest
Caroline, how about giving this a try: Since you are a stay-at-home mom, why not do as MUCH LifeLift flex- breathing as your schedule allows & keep track of it in a log for one week ??? Just remember to write down ALL your before & after tape measurements & report back to us with your terrific RESULTS !!! That should encourage & inspire everyone on this list <:-) Your friend, CC P.S. I recall reading somewhere that excercising for 20 minutes at once is the optimum length of time -- But you can still repeat your 20 minute workouts multiple times throughout the day & add as many 7- 10 minute " short bursts " of LL flex-breaths as you feel comfortable doing... > > Hi again, > > How many breaths a day for OPTIMAL weight loss? Guest guest
You know, that is a terrific idea! I'm going to get some of the organic navy beans collecting dust in my pantry and carry two little zip locks with me wherever I go to keep track. Guest guest
As far as I know ADHD and ADD are inventions of the psychiatric/pharmaceutical industry. As is Bipolar disorder. They were invented to keep the shrinks in business to, of course make money, for them and the pill companies. Young children (virtually all young chlidren) have low attention spans. They must be trained to concentrate on different things for longer and longer periods of time. The is what education is all about. Training minds. That is why my children were never allowed to watch sesame street. Sesame street reinforces the short attention span of kids. The shrinks are busily trying to categorize every emotional state of the human mind as a disorder of some kind. And get the pill companies to market another toxic pill to treat it. It's all about the $$$. So what if they destroy the lives of thousands of children every year. As long as the $$$ keep flowing, so what? Guest guest
This isn't entirely true. I agree that the psychs are trying to categorize every human experience as a mental illness so they can connect it to a pill to treat it. However, ADD and ADHD are real conditions, but they are imbalances in neurotransmitters in the brain and are very treatable. Our family doctor (chiro/nutritionist, NOT an MD or psych) treated my son's ADHD (an after effect of his autism) very effectively. He was on a supplement regimen for 6 months and was able to go off his supplements. Never at any time was he on any meds and he's homeschooled so he was not subjected to arbitrary " won't sit still " rules. He was actually very sick and very out of control. He's totally normal now and is doing beautifully. ADD and ADHD are very much over-diagnosed, by the schools especially, where they just need kids to sit still and listen. Making them into zombies by the use of medication is the only way to accomplish that goal since most kids are active and curious by nature. Most of the kids " diagnosed " do not actually have any attention issues, many are simply very active boys. There is, however, a world of difference between a normal, active boy and one that's totally out of control - I've seen both sides of the coin in my son. ADD and ADHD are one of the biggest reasons why I homeschool my kids. My son is very bright, curious and active - things that are very much discouraged in public schools. He would almost assuredly be nailed with ADHD, just as he is - not to mention how he was. When he was 2, the speech therapist told me he probably had ADHD. -- Roni Bergerson Independent Monavie Distributor Celebrate Good Health with Monavie! http://www.mymonavie.com/jandrbergerson/ -------------- Original message -------------- From: ph McGuire <kingcop@...> As far as I know ADHD and ADD are inventions of the psychiatric/pharmaceutical industry. Guest guest
Those diseases that are written off as " just happening " are the effect of an industry that really has no clue how the human body works and what most of modern medicine is doing to the body. Between going to school for naturopathic medicine, talking with other naturopaths and my own personal chiro, there is an explanation for everything that happens in the body....if you understand how the body works. All the proof I need of that came when my son was dying of starvation despite eating constantly. Despite countless tests and doctors, they still had no idea what was going on and said that it was " just one of those things that happen " and that " there was nothing more they could do " . I was going to lose my son and nobody knew why. My chiro ran some tests and within two weeks my son was on supplements and 3 and a half years later he's a strapping preschooler who is doing wonderfully and has overcome every challenge and delay brought on by his illnesses. More proof came with my older son - the doctor's told me he'd be in an institution by the time he was 4 due to aggression related to his autism. They said there was no way he would recover and they could try speech, ABA therapy and drugs (anti-psychotics, of course) to try to improve him, but he'd never recover. He was diagnosed at 2.5 years and was recovered by 5 years thanks to my chiro. -- Roni Bergerson Independent Monavie Distributor Celebrate Good Health with Monavie! http://www.mymonavie.com/jandrbergerson/ -------------- Original message -------------- From: " P " <ExcitingHealth@...> Unfortunately, yes, I believe toxins (in all forms) as well as repeated antibiotics are related to ADD/ADHD and probably many other " diseases " we are told " just happen. Guest guest
Hi !! I am doing fine, thanks for asking. I posted on friday before my surgery but was pretty much recovering the whole weekend. I wont say it was a breeze but I have to say it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. After the surgery I had alot of gas and it was very painful but I started walking when they allowed me to and doing my breathing excercises. Those are the two things along with trying to sip sip sip as much liquid in very small amounts that have me feeling better each day after the surgery. I actually just got home this morning at 6am and its been a long day :\ The head stuff is now kicking in. I am not hungry and I am not craving anything at this time but dinner on the counter and having a natural reaction to go over an have a bite of something is still there. This is the beginning of my journey and I'm going to take it day by day. But I do already know that I am going to use this tool to become a healthy habit eating person. I am determined to lose the weight and become the happy healthy person that I am meant to be!! Did you have your surgery?? If so when? And How are you doing? Guest guest
Hey Kris!! Glad to hear your doing better! When I left you on Sunday you weren't feeling so hot and I was rushed to leave so I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to say goodbye. I understand what you're saying about head hunger. My best friend came over tonight and was hungry and she had chicken tacos with chips and salsa. It smelled sooo good but I just focused on my drink and started reading what everybody had to say on this site via my iPhone and before I knew it she was done. I keep telling myself that I will someday be able to eat a chicken taco again!! Lol! I guess that will have to get me through for now!
