Guest guest
I had my band placed on saturday September 13th and it is now monday the 15th and i am doing well, i am actually at the airport in San Diego waiting for my flight to arrive, so i can go back home. My expectations were actually blown out of the water, it was wonderful. I was extremely nervous, but as soon as i got to the hospital Yolonda took me away to pee in a sample cup that reminded me of dixi cup, you know the little ones. then i met , who was great, i actually wanted to take him home with me. he helped with bloodwork, then EKG, then chest x-rays. I was so astonsished on how modest he was. I mean i had to put on a gown with the opening in the front for the EKG pads to be placed and everytime he put one on he told me sorry, especially when he got close to my breasts. it was nice even though i saw him as a medical professional so i didn't have a second thought about it. It was just nice that he was polite. After that i met with a doctor to talk with me quickly about the blood tests which they didn't have the results back yet. Then it was back with Yolonda to get some last minute instructions. We were then taken to the hotel by Ernesto, whom i noticed is an agressive driver, the hotel was beautiful and the bellhops(i think that is what they were) were so apt to help with anything, they wouldn't let us carry our own baggage. The room was nice and it even had a few english channels. we had my last meal at the itallian resturaunt, clams, shrimp, and calamari with linguine noodles and white wine sauce. WOW is all i can say about that, it was a very romantic atmosphere. The next day was surgery and i was nervous beyond all belief, sometime around 1 or so i got my " happy pill " to relieve anxiety and it even makes some people fall asleep, but not me. The drug doctor was puttin in my IV and i was asking him about what all he was putting in it, to which he reliped " do you know medicines? " i said no so then he said " I am putting mango water in it " we both laughed and shortly after that i remember being in the recovery room, i was in a little bit of pain the hardest thing was the fact that i wanted to speak, to quickly wake up, but i couldn't. I was taken back to my room once i could hold my eyes open, the staff was really good about keeping me not in pain. I was taken to my room by 6 pm and was ready to go walking at 8. The next day was somewhat slow and boring, but i got a good breakfast of broth, jello, apple juice and tea. (all 3 of my meals that day were the same) I did a lot of walking that day. I met some wonderful people down there, staff and patients whom i hope to keep in touch with, I will especially miss my jello trading partner Everyone was just so great, it is bitter sweet to leave today. Right now i am not in pain just mildly uncomfortable, so that is great, already i am looking forward to my new life....NO REGRETS!!!
