Guest guest
Hi Colleen, I know this sounds kinda stupid but with the price of gas going up everytime we blink our eyes I'm not sure I will definatly be able to come to the swap. But if I do I will bring a jello fruit dish, ok I hope I can go. Guest guest
It's a one-day-at-a-time deal for me but what helps me a lot is juicing of fresh veggies -- carrot juice, celery, tomato, spinach, cucumber. I juice these and others in various combinations and throw in some ice and to me it is delicious. Very satisfying. I also love broths -- chicken, beef, vegetable -- and I don't worry too much about sodium content. As for what to avoid.....well........dense sugar "foods" like candy, ice cream. They go down easy but pack a huge caloric punch. The less the better. OK. That's my two cents worth. Oh. I use the Jack LaLane juicer. Very easy to clean........ From: akan2hair <akan2hair@...>Subject: Food suggestions Date: Tuesday, June 2, 2009, 7:03 PM I got a fill yesterday and I am trying to start all over. Anyone have any suggestions on foods to eat, not eat and totally avoid? Is there anyone who has been very successful with the lapband and can give me some good advice? Thanks,Carolyn
Guest guest
When I had fills they always told me to do liquids for a couple days, then mushies then food but I never had a problem after fills. My first meal afterward was always soup and bread always gave me trouble fill or not. It is very much an individualized learning curve so experiment slowly with small amounts and don't forget to chew, chew, chew. Even now, with the sleeve, I chew until I can squish the food between my teeth before I swallow. I am sure others will have more suggestions on how they coped with fills. I do remember that after about the third fill I could not eat any solid food until about 10 or 10:30 in the morning. I must have some swelling while sleeping and it had to go down a bit before I could eat. I hope you are having positive feelings about "starting over" you may need to do that a lot--that happens any time there is new learning. This board is full of wonderful people with a variety of experiences they are willing to share. Congratulations on deciding to start over--today is the first day of the rest of your life.........gloria
