Guest guest
Re: Chromium picolinate I would strongly suggest you stick to more scientific publications than " New Woman " ! There is NO data that chromium picolinate used in physiologic doses is in any way carcinogenic. In fact, the epic of Type II diabetes ( Adult onset) in this country is probably due to mineral deficiencies, particularly chromium which women seem to lose at a faster rate past menopause. Chromium picolinate is used at a dose of 200 mcg to 1 mg/day and is VERY effective at lowering blood sugar safely without side effects unlike Glucophage or other oral drugs. Combine it with vanadyl sulfate and it is even more effective. Randy

I have taken chromium Picolinate in the past only because that was the only choice vitamin companys provided. I have since found a company that did there research and has offered an alternative. I have found that not only does the supplement boost lean muscle mass it has also helped control the effects of low blood sugar. I now take chromium in the form of aspartate and nicotinate. thanks to Sandy Shaw and Dick Pearson. The life extension CO. Please e me for more info if you need these supplements. Myhershel@... But I see checking the latest lists for Type O's that Chromium Picolinate is an avoid with no reason mentioned. Maybe the following site will provide an answer. Guest guest
Hello! Chromium Picholinate is an " Avoid " . http://darkwing.uoregon.edu/~sshapiro/ER4YT/FoodLists_TOC.html ~Natasha <<<Subject: chromium picolinate I have not had time to read the digest, but I have discovered that the spelling that I copied from the blood type lists is different than the spelling on the product (which I do have some of -- purchased when I heard about its benefits to blood sugar balance but which I quit thinking about taking after reading that it was an avoid). The spelling 'chromium picolinate' is the way it its written on the actual container. As I have said, I have not yet checked to see whether anyone has responded, but I will do now. Thanks! Guest guest
I sent this several days in a row and it didn't go through....I will try again!Chromium Picolinate is thought to balance the blood sugar along with many other benefits. As stated in the Vanderbilt Medical School information site: http://www.vanderbi lt.edu/AnS/ psychology/ health_psycholog y/chromium. htm#What is the Purpose of Chromium Picoli"Chromium picolinate is used in conjunction with weight loss programs. "It's purpose is to control the appetite, preserve lean muscle mass, spare protein, and stimulate metabolism." (Http://www.west. net/-sbarb) "It aims to reduce the cravings for sweets and help the body maintain proper blood sugar levels so the typical energy level ups and downs normally associated with dieting are greatly reduced." (http://www.mindspri ng.com/bobatlga/ shapedex. html) "Chromium picolinate works to make it easier to burn more calories every minute and to keep excess pounds off forever." (http://users. aol.com/lpvitami ns/shapepls. html) "While most dieters who lose a significant amount of weight lose too much muscle and organ tissue, chromium picolinate can accelerate fat loss while helping to preserve or increase muscle." (http://www.nutritio n-warehouse. com/chromium. picolinate. html). I use it because when I do, I notice a huge difference in my cravings for sugar. If I don't take it, I crave sugar all day long. So, with this, it is not for weight loss for me, but for the cravings. I have found that if I take two 400 mcgs in the morning it will last most of the day.Gail We are moving to Florida...anyone out there know of a doc who does fills/unfills? Have been living in Las Vegas since band 2-1/2 years ago so am able to see the folks who work w/Dr Aceves. Thanks so much for any info! joanne Re: re-thinking my band for a sleeve I highly recommend the sleeve. I got a band in Dec 2005 and traded it for a sleeve in March 2009. I did not have the medical nightmare issues you sometimes hear about with the band but I had to go from central Arkansas to Houston, TX for fills after the AR doc raised his fill price to $700 (after he had done 2 for me!!) for patients banded in Mexico. If you get a sleeve now (not a choice in 2005) you won't have to pay for getting both and you won't have to be concerned about a fill doc who wants to rip you off and overcharge. There is no after care with the sleeve and you won't have to do those first 30 days TWICE like those of us with revision surgery did--do it once and be done. That's my opinion and best wishes for whatever you decide.gloria220/128/126. 5 (yeah, I am trying to maintain within 2 pounds of 129 and LOVING size 6 jeans and extra small shirts and I have to pay attention to eat enough instead of eat less!!!! Man o man I love my sleeve!!!!!! !!!!!!!!! )>> i have been planning my surgery sine january this year, at first i was leaning towards the band, but now i want the sleeve. I live in tennesse and in my city we only have 2 bariatric doctors here and they only one that will see me as a mexico banded patient says they charge and $1000 transfer fee to see the doctor. Now i dont know if i can afford that kind of money plus fills. On the other hand i am worried that the band weight loss is slow. Im 24 and 240 pounds overweight and i would like for the weight to come off quicker because i have a high reunion coming up soon and would love to go thinner. I am so undecided because i dont know which procedure is best. I was told the gastric bypass was to drastic because i am young, please guys help me out with my decision. any advice would be helpful..> > thanks>
