Guest guest
Hi Kris, Your progress sounds fantastic to me. You will start learning to fix some of this protein in different ways. But, if you are happy with what you are doing then that is great. I tried making more salads (in a small bowel) and putting the protein in the salad. You can take your protein and use it so many different way. I mix my protein with a small amount of brown rice and some steamed veggies and that is great too. Try cooking your fish in a little orange juice--taste pretty good! Sounds like you ladies are doing great, and I was like you, I didn't see much of a difference until I started taking some pictures. Try to take a few pictures every month and you will really notice the change. Hugs, Suzanne
Guest guest
OMG!! Kelley & !!! I Love you guys!!! you sound like your doing great!!! I am sooo Proud of you! Girls please write to me on my personal email mas9116@... and I can give you my home phone #. Just incase we don't talk I was 325 in Mexicali and I am now 247. That is 78 pounds gone forever!! I was a size 4x & 26W and i am now 2x and 18/20. I feel so much better already!! I am going to be honest I still crave the crappy food but can't eat it! I eat alot of the same stuff like fish, shrimp & chicken breast. It gets boring for me but I wouldn't change it for nothing!! I have stalled the entire month of July and just started losing again this past two weeks at about 1 & 1/2 to 2 pounds a week. I am soooo Happy!! I look at myself and don't see alot of change but then I look at pictures and I cant believe I was ever that fat! Plus the change I see is in my clothes. Well take care girls and I hope to hear from you soon!! Love, Kris Negrete By the way has anyone heard from Tina?? ACEVES POST OP STATISTICS Hi Nina!! This is Hunt checking in as well.. I did not receive the survey; however, I too also wanted to report my results. Let me say that Dr. Aceves is a God Send!! Who would have EVER believed -- that group of "pleasant, overweight folks" would come together (individually and/or collectively) to share our stories, our lives and our gratefulness for the wonderful team in Mexico. I feel soooo blessed to have located your medical services, as my intervention, for my struggles with weight loss. Speaking for myself (with hopes that this email will bless others), I have truly tried a number of interventions to lose the weight. Unfornately, all of the previous "diets / lifestyle changes" failed tremendously only with me putting back on additional pounds from any short term weight loss which occurred. For me, my body now CRAVES eating healthy (this still blows my mind).. I have actually "tied" to eat fast food (my previous food of choice); however, my body and system just does NOT want it, crave it nor can my system tolerate the junk which I use to live and die for. (go figure). To any of my fellow sleeve sisters and/or brothers!! Please, Please, Please know that this board is REAL!!! These folks (thanks Suzanne, Bipley and others) who are spending countless hours really trying to give sound, accurate, truthful and down-right "in your face advice" which will HELP you if you listen!!!! I write this letter for a sincere message that Dr. Aceves and his staff have been a REAL blessing to me!! Sorry for the long email. I just had to share my feelings for today (smile). My previous weight was 294 (306 during pre-op) and I now weigh 225. That's a total of 69 pounds and my surgery was on March 19 (less than 5 months out). I am wearing sizes that I never dreamed possible (14/16). I am sooo grateful!! Thanks Family! With Much Love..

Guest guest
Hi Nina, it's been a while since I checked in as well and I am happy to report that I have also dropped a substantial amount of weight since my surgery. My surgery was march 17, 2010 and I have gone from 271.8 down to 189.8 as of today. Minus 82 lbs!!!! I went from a sz 24 to a sz 14. I can believe that the stats are true that you report considering that I have 7 months left to lose 25 lbs in order to meet these stats. That should be a breeze! Thank you so much for everything you and Dr. Aceves staff have done for me! Thank you again, les-Drane

Guest guest
Congratulations!!! I remember when u were trying to decide about having the sleeve surgery and u family was giving u such a hard time about spending the money on the surgery and telling u it would be a waste. I am so happy for u!!! I hope they've all changed their tunes! My mom was a little skeptical about my getting sleeved because a close friend of our family died as a resut of complications of gastric bypass surgery, so she was grudgingly supportive when I made the decision and put the money down to hold my spot. Now I'm a year and a half post op and I look and feel great. She is so happy about my success that she has become a big advocate for sleeve surgery... specifically with Dr Aceves. He and his staff are the vest.. Anywho, congratulations, A! Guest guest
I don't know what the cost of the sleeve is, didn't you have your band by Aceves? i think he gives his own patients a bit of a break. The band is hard, very hard. The kind of hard we have no control over. I wouldn't fear MX. The US and MX gov'ts are not warning about the entire country of MX, just specific cities like TJ and Juarez. We have are freaky cities too. ;o) On Thu, Aug 19, 2010 at 12:37 PM, super medic <supermedic1707@...> wrote: HI Nina, How much does the sleeve cost.. i have almost no fill and have almost gained everything back. To all those that answered our poll email thanks a million, this is really helpful information and we appreciate the time you take to keep us updated on your results. Dr. Aceves sleeve patients lose on average 96% of their excess body weight in 12 months! We are happy to have the numbers to back up what we already knew: our patients reach their goal weight very quickly. As many of you know not all doctors do the sleeve the same way, sleeve techniques vary.
