Guest guest
I decided to reschedule a fill - I'm just erring on the side of caution. I didn't "need" to go. I think its a personal choice. I was sick for 6 months this year with kidney infections, kidney stones and surgeries - the last thing I need is any hint of getting ill again. Just my choice trish In a message dated 4/29/2009 9:31:18 A.M. Pacific Daylight Time, Bipley@... writes: It's not even IN Mexicali right now. It's deeper into Mexico. Guest guest
Oh yes, we have been washing our hands a lot and plan on getting some hand sanitizer as soon as we get to the airport after getting out of the Van when Ernesto drops us off. Guest guest
Good for you. I agree I don't think there is anything to worry about. If it were me I would be doing just what you are doing too. Everyone here at the hospital is wonderful. I believe it is an individual choice, and you know what is best for you. Sorry I will miss you, we are heading home tomorrow morning. Guest guest
Wearing a mask on the plane is a good idea. Don't worry about looking silly. You don't know those people and you'll never see them again. Despite the bad press on this flu, it isn't anywhere as bad as the Asian or the Hong Kong flu where a million people DIED from each one. I'm sure we're better protected now than we were then......and my family didn't even catch those. From what I read and hear, you could pick up the normal (lol) run of the mill flu but that doesn't mean it's the dreaded Swine Flu. ly, my concern is the rumor that the borders may be closed. I just checked the border crossing time. I don't know which crossing Ernesto takes but right now there are 8 lanes open at one and 10 open at the other with an hour to cross either one. Can you magine how many thousands of cars are going into the U.S. daily from Mexico? And you're worried? Don't panic! Guest guest
I think as long as you use common sense and some extra precaution you will be fine. But don't take this flu with a grain of salt. The last thing you want is to get sick with anything, let alone the swine because going under the knife does tend to weaken the immune system. But I do think these surgeries are important and sometimes, in order to change one's life, it means taking a chance. But the outcome to that chance will be a life of good health. My surgery with Dr. A is June 29 and I am going to do my best to stay strong and determined, despite my family freaking out.
