Wow ,

You are such an inspiration!! You are obviously a very strong woman. I have

no doubt that you will reach your goals. I was once at the point of needing

to lose about 100 pounds. I know how overwhelming it sounds, but it can be

done. I am down 75 lbs and feel great. Tae-Bo is an amazing thing. I look

forward to being inspired by you =)

Take care,

:)

Welcome K (we have a susi and a F)! I am glad you delurked.

You definitely came to the right place for support. I have myofascial

pain syndrome in my back from a previous disc injury. Aerobic exercise

really alleviates the pain for me. I find that tension makes my pain

so much worse. When I give in to exercise, my whole body relaxes and

my circulation improves. I hope taebo does the same for you.

I am sorry you have so much to deal with right now. You are definitely

doing the right thing taking time out for yourself to exercise. The

mothers here will tell you that, I'm sure.

When you feel ready and if you have the time, add the floor work from

the advanced to the basic tape workout. The extra time spent

exercising and toning should speed up your results. I do taebo

(advanced tapes) 6 days a week for fitness, appearance, and for back

pain and depression and because I have the time to exercise that much

(no kids). Check out or introductions at our web site at

http://taeboon/isportsdot.com.

Wow! Thank you everyone for such a warm welcome! It's sooo nice to be on such

an upbeat email list (most of the other ones are for the medical info - and are

wonderful for info, but often kind of rough to read every day)!!

Elena, it's nice to know someone else with some of the same problems has been

helped with Taebo. I'm hoping with strengthening my muscles that it will help

the pain as well. I do find that I have to modify quite a few of the exercises,

but that's allright. I also add alot more to the warm up

and cool down than does - I wish he would add a few more minutes in both

areas. I'm going to give it a try, adding on the floor work after the Basic,

hopefully that will help start to decrease the size of my hips and tummy, esp.

, it sounds like there are quite a few of Texans on the board! I'm here

in Austin, too. I'm originally from down in South Texas, Alice near Corpus

Christi. My dh and I are both from there. Makes it easier for visiting

relatives over the holidays! Both of our parents live about 20

minutes apart! :)

Barb, , and , thank you so much for the compliments. I try to be

strong, but sometimes I feel like I am treading water with just my nose sticking

above it! (And a wave about to go right over that nose! :) Both of my kiddoes

are very bright, and altho they have issues, I know that

they will slowly find ways to compensate. I just want to try and give them

every tool and any assistance that I possibly can along the way. They shouldn't

have to work twice as hard if there is something that I can do to help them.

Sometimes I get depressed about everything that they are

facing, but they are loving wonderful happy children, and that's the part that I

want to maintain the most! , 75 lbs! That is wonderful! I have that

long road in front of me, it's nice to know that someone else has already

traveled it! (And done so well along that way.)

Romie, It's nice to see another Texan, and thanks for telling me about Phyllis.

I'll keep a look out for her posts too and see how she is doing with her Fibro

and Tae-bo. I'm glad to hear that it is helping you out as well. I am on

anti-depressants, but it is mainly to regulate my sleep

patterns, so that my body can get that deep sleep and heal itself. If I don't

take them I wake up at least 6x a night, if not every hour, and I never get that

deep heavy sleep your body needs. You have your hands full with kiddos too, I

see, do they enjoy trying to do the Tae-bo, too? Oops,

aren't you the one whose 2 year old actually does it toooo well? ;)

Many of us add a longer stretching period at the beginning and end of

each tape. It is a weakness of most of the tapes. Fortunately, there

is the good stretching in the instructionals to learn and use when you

do each tape. I also add in floor work several days a week. It's a

great way to do a little more when you have a lot of energy and the tape

alone doesn't do it for you.

Elena, whose myofascial pain syndrome receives a lot of relief from

antidepressants and, even if the depression and mood changes went away

(probably won't), would still take the antidepressants for the

myofascial pain.

Angie,

Thanks so much for the welcome...this isn't long at all. The way this email

list moves, I don't think I'll ever be able to keep up! :) I have a feeling

I'll have to move to digest down the road, but for now it's nice to come here

and always have a few emails from motivated TBers!

Regards,

K in Texas

True, but I don't want to HAVE to couch it in those terms, kwim? I want to

be able to just say " hey, i don't think this is safe for MY child and refuse

to subject them to it " . Unfortunately in NY it seems that is what we will

have to do though. Thanks for the info.

I commiserate with you...we would all like to just say, " no, it's stupid and

hurtful " . Unfortunately, at the moment, morons are making the rules...

Hi Bobbie! Welcome!!!!

With 3 kids, I'm sure you are a very busy lady! When you say that

this is your 7th day and you may " start over " on Monday, that leads

me to believe that you didn't quite live up to your expectations the

first week. Let me be the first to tell you that NO ONE but NO ONE

does this program perfectly. If you've read the book than you know

that this is Body for LIFE...meaning, it is a way of life and not a

diet to be followed and the emphasis is " progress " not " perfection. "

Of course we all aim high and insist that we are going to eat

perfectly and get all of our workouts in, but almost everyone here,

even people who have been INCREDIBLY successful on this plan slip

up. I cannot tell you how many people I have seen come to this board

and say that they've messed up and need to " start over. " As you go

along in your weeks and you've eaten something you shouldn't have,

accept it, learn from it, and move on and eat cleanly the rest of

the day, and the next day, try to do better. There is no beginning

and end to this plan when done correctly. You're always mindful of

what you SHOULD be doing and you try to do it. But, when you don't,

please don't give up. This is why people quit. You have 6 meals you

eat in a day that's 36 meals a week if you take a free day...if it

is difficult for you to do this and you slip up alot, consider how

many meals you ate well. Even if you eat 4 out of your 6 meals

cleanly, that's 24 out of 36 meals eaten well and only 12 meals not

eaten well. The next week try to do better and focus on small

victories or you're going to get too overwhelmed.

Here is an article from one of this groups moderators " Skwigg " at

her site that you may find helpful.

http://www.skwigg.com/id28.html " Cheaters Prosper "

http://www.skwigg.com/id60.html " This is Your Brain on BFL "

and if you're in a fitness slump

http://www.skwigg.com/id63.html " I've Fallen and I Can't Get Up "

Good luck! You can do this! Just dust yourself off and get back on

that BFL horse!

Glad to see your post! Hope to " see " you back soon!

Hi Ruth,

belly fat and say's.. " Yeah, but I'v had 3 kids " .. I just bought the

journal and it should be arriving soon and I haven't received my BFL

pack yet. I'm off to have a protein shake..Thanks so much!!
