Guest guest
I had my sleeve surgery on April 24th, and I just finished the 10 day clear liquid diet, and I am sooo hungry! Did anyone else experience this? and if so does this go away? I feel like crawling wall some days! Frances
Guest guest
-- Hi Francis THe first 10 days are the hardest, I was sleeved March 27th. I did not have an appetite at all. You have to remember that your head will play games with you. Sometimes it is just head hunger. Drink water and find something to distract yourself. Just remember as well, that you didn't get obese by only eating when you were hungry. Consider your moods, how are you feeling, stressed, sad, anxious. All of those things make me want to eat, as I am a stress eater. So it is generally your head playing tricks on you. You will get through this. Guest guest
Hi Frances, I think you are experiencing what we call "Head Hunger" It really isn't like you stomach is hungry, it is more like you head says I haven't had anything "real" to eat. Having the sleeve, I honestly don't experience hunger. It is more like oh, it is breakfast, or oh it is noon and I always eat lunch at noon. You have to learn to have some talks with yourself and ask yourself are you really hungry, or is this about head hunger. It is a battle for a little while, but once you get past the first month he gets a whole lot better. Great question and keep coming back and asking question. We will talk with you about any of this. Guest guest
You are probably right about the head hunger; I am finding that I think a lot about food. I also never realized that there were so many food commercials on TV. But I am also feeling weak not tired. Today was my 1st day off of the clear; so, it makes me feel a lot better already. I still cook for my family but I am finding it very hard. Thank-you for your encouraging words, it is so nice to hear from a fellow sleever! Guest guest
Thankyou for your encouraging words! I do need to have a good talk with myself, I did Not realize that I was so addicted and obessed with food. I think about food all the time, so, I know that my head needs some re-adjusting. I glad to hear it gets better after the 1st month. Thanks again, Frances 275/253/175 From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of SuzanneSH Sent: May-05-09 6:19 PM To: Subject: Re: Hungry like a bear? Guest guest
Hi Frances, It is nice that you are cooking for them, but just maybe they could help a little more for this 1st month. That is asking a lot of you--you are a food addict just like the rest of us. If you are still tired, that means you need some rest--you body is trying to heal. Also if being tired continues, go see your own doctor and have them draw some blood and have them run a blood panel and check your levels. I know for me my potassium level dropped and that is what made me so tired. It is just a thought if it continue. We all had an addiction to food or we wouldn't have been fat, overweight, whatever you want to call it. But, we have done something about it, and it is going to get a whole lot better. Keep coming back and talking to us. We are all here for you.
