Hi

My name is Kathy and I am having a band to sleeve revision done on April 5th. I live so close that I went in yesterday and had all my pre op testing done this way I don’t have to come down on the Easter Sunday I will just show up on the morning of April 5th. I will be starting my pre op diet on Sunday. I also know a wonderful lady coming down that will be getting the lap band her name is Ann Marie I talk to her almost everyday and she will be there on the 4th.

Thank you Suzanne for all of the encouragement. I know that I'll have many more

questions for you as the reality of this decision sinks in over the next few

days.

Thanks.

Hi Kathy,

I will be having the VSG. This will be my first and hopefully last WLS. In the

past 20 years I have gained and lost at least 1000 pounds, and most recently

lost 140 pounds about 4 years ago through exercise and diet alone. But fairly

typical life's events like the death of one's parents, nasty divorce, etc

resulted in my continued yo-yoing over the past couple years and now I have

regained most of what I had lost. I know that I can lose it--- done that lots

of times. I'm hoping that the VSG will be a tool that will help me to keep it

off this time for the rest of my life.

Looking forward to meeting you in Mexicali.

Hi ,

Yes, you will keep it off this time, this is a restriction. The key is to have a lifestyle change and not consider it a diet. If you eat healthy then you will be successful. Just take it one day at a time.

Hey ,

Just ask away, that is what we are all here for. I got so many answers from people on here when I first started. They are a lot of GREAT people on this site. One day at a time, and write down your questions and come back with them

Take care,

Suzanne

Hi ,

Welcome to the group. We are thrilled to have you. The men always seem to do an amazing job losing their weight so much faster than the ladies. Just remember we have all gone through the feelings of 2nd guessing if we are doing the right thing, excited about making the choice, scared to have it done, feeling anxiety, fear, what will people think and what in the world am I doing to myself? So if I missed an emotions, the rest of you jump in and say what it was. These are all pretty normal feelings and emotions to be feeling about now. You know who you were and I really appreciated all you help and support.

So just remember the 1st month after the surgery is the most difficult to do. But you can do anything for just 30 days, it isn't a lifetime! You are about to meet some amazing medical people who really do care about you and your health and care. So enjoy your experience. You will never be treated as well in any US hospital as you will get from Dr. Aceves and his team of health care professionals. This is an amazing journey. Please take some pictures of "before".
