Guest guest
Hey , Your welcome and that is what we are all here for. We have been right where you are and there were plenty of people answering all of our questions. We are always going to be here, so just keep asking away! The more I read, the more I think the sleeve is my answer and also Dr. Aceves is the one to get it done. The school now has Humana instead of BCBS but I don't thin they cover the sleeve. At the same time, I feel so comfortable with going to Dr. Aceves after reading all of these posts for so long, that I'm almost sure that's what's my best bet.I can't wait to have it done! ;o)Have a great Sunday! Guest guest
Trust me! I am a skeptic! I always research as much as possible the places and things that I do....that way, I won't be blindsided! I know you will love the Mexicali hospital! Don't you live in Arizona? Bipley lives there and you guys could possibly meet. That would be great for you! I am so much happier that I had it done in Mexicali than in the US. The US takes forever to get labs and test done, plus they send you home within hours to fend for yourself rather than complete all of the tests that they do in Mexicali. I was shocked at how fast the labs came back with Dr. Aceves! It was a matter of hours.....not weeks! Anyway, it won't be long until you will be an official member of the sleeve club! Congratulations! Gail From: schaefferadriana <nana1964@...>Subject: Thank you! Guest guest
Yes, I live in Mesa, AZ. Maybe I could meet Bipley when it gets closer to my surgery (whenever that is... lol). It would be good, yes! My family is scared of me doing it because a friend of us, who had a RYN done about 5 years ago and was doing fine, all of a sudden started having problems. Her sugar is way too low and she has been sick a lot lately. When I talked to my family near Christmas and they were all together for a " pasta Saturday " (my aunt cooks and everybody goes there to meet and talk...), I heard them all talking together asking me to diet instead... lol Latino people... I tell you... we talk a lot... lol Anyway, the sleeve is not being done in Brazil, as far as I know... and I think Mexicali will be just fine... I just want to get it done and show up in Brazil at least 20 pounds lighter than the last time I was there (220). After all, they love me anyway... but I don't really love me the same way... sad, but true. Thank you all again! > > > From: schaefferadriana <nana1964@...> > Subject: Thank you! Guest guest
Hi , Yes, they love you just the way you are and that is great. You last sentence made a lot of sense. This is about YOU and no one else. If you don't like where you are, then you have every RIGHT to make a good choice for yourself. One of the mistakes that some people make is not putting themselves first and we should do that. I talked to my own doctor before I went to have the sleeve surgery so she would know what I was doing. She thought this was the right thing for me and has been great support for me when I got home. She also approved of Dr. Aceves and had checked him out. She has been very diligent about my health and how I was doing since I had the surgery. In two and a half months I have had about 4 blood tests. This is her way of checking on me and making sure everything is going the way it should be. Maybe the friend of your family should have had a doctor keeping tabs on her after she had her surgery. I think it is always wise to let your doctor know what you are doing so they can follow up with a little after care of you. It is nice to know that your blood work is good--because that is a clue when something isn't going right and they catch it early they can help you get what you need. Good nutrition is so very important for you after the surgery and the rest of your life. I will being routing for you and I know that you have made a great choice.
