Guest guest
After having had the lapband and now two weeks out from VSG surgery, I can tell you what works for me. 1. Fluids-try drinking with a straw, preferably the size of a cocktail straw, at first. That way you are really " sipping " . You can even try a toddler's " sippy cup. " I tend to gulp more with the sports bottle, so at first, that was too much for me. They are ok now though. Also, try supplementing fluids with sugar-free Popsicle brand popsicles. They count toward your fluids, and the Tropical flavors are great. 2. Protein- I personally can't stand the powders, and they seem a little " heavy " to me. Plus...to mix up a scoop, you have end up with a pretty good sized serving. I used to mix my whey powder with a little Quick chocolate mix, and that helped. Body Fortress has a Protein whey shot that is a clear liquid, and goes down pretty easy with a straw. That's worked best for me this time. It's the best I could find as far as protein content, as it has 28 grams per shot. So two of those and some Special K lemonade mix in your water will give you your daily quota. You can get both at Walmart Super Stores or online at Amazon.com. (it's way more expensive then at Walmart though) 3. Vitamins-Try the chewables by Viactiv. The multi vitamin comes in a variety of flavors. Milk chocolate is my favorite. I also take the calcium one in the caramel flavor. They are chewy, but will melt in your mouth...and are a little like eating candy. You can find them at Walmart or on Amazon also. All of these suggestions are my personal preference, and everyone is different, but it's what has worked for me. I was sleeved two weeks ago, I've lost 13 pounds, and I've been feeling great except for last night. I made the mistake of having a glass of wine at a birthday party, and it went straight through me. So don't do that!!!! , hope you're feeling better.... Have a great day everyone! Pam
