I had lap band surgery in August 2007 and basically have been too tight 85 % of

the 3 years.I do not have the money for a sleeve;and have been basically too

tight 90% of the time for the 3 years.I also have to take any pills and cut them

in fragments(an advil like into 4 pieces, roll it into thick yoplait yogurt and

immediately drink and swallow. All my foods, liver, veg, eggs basically must be

pureed in my magic bullet;as even a pea, or cooked carrot will end up stuck.I

have gone back to personally have Dr.Campos or Aceves do my fills, unfill 2

times.I am petrified in letting anyone else touch my port!! The horror stories

are enough to keep me on a pureed diet. All the doctors, hospitals in my area will

not touch me once they hear I had surgery in Mexico.I know some people have used

lapband center.com or something like that? Does Dr.Aceves have an agreement with

them to treat us banded folks? I live in Virginia, near Wash.DC and will go

anywhere on East coast or even Mexico if I have to,but someone said the border

was not safe by the State Dept. but this may be a false rumor? The good news is

that I went from 230 lbs to 115 lbs.A size 22/24 to a size 0/1 or kids size

14.If anyone can tell me where to go or where not to go---I would be very

appreciative! I ONLY WANT A DOCTOR WHO NUMBS THE AREA AND USES FLOUROSCOPY as

our Mexican docs do.Many thanks!

i believe you are referring to FillCentersUSA and there is no agreement needed.  They will work on anyone regardless of where they were banded. On Sun, Nov 28, 2010 at 11:53 AM, Price <praiseholyname@...> wrote:

Hello! I have had similar experience(s) since surgery w/Dr A 4/7/2007. At the time we were living in Vegas so no biggie to drive the 4+ hours to Almater (sp) hospital and Dr. Campos. However, a year ago moved to Florida. I tried all docs within a 400+ mile radius. None would touch it.

Called Fill Center USA. Found a center in St sburg which is about 300 miles. I made an appt though FC w/a Kathie . She is not a doctor, her card reads ARNP-BC (you got me??) and husband & I took off. It is expensive (considering nuttin w/Dr Campos except for the $75 for the fluro) BUT...I told husband pls believe that I will walk out if I am not satisfied w/what I see and hear before having her touch my port. He was in total agreement as we had already discussed flying to San Diego and driving from there or back to Vegas where we could also visit friends and family....OK....she was totally and wonderfully professional as was the staff.

She spent a lot of time w/me discussing symptoms etc., did thorough exam, used fluro, removed all but 1/2cc and then spent 10 or 15 minutes reviewing food choices, etc., and I have free follow ups including removal of the last 1/2 cc for a year from date of the initial treatment. I think the cost was about $300. That was in June. I am doing fine now but find I tighten up when stressed...even good stress like parties, travelling, etc., but once I return home and back into routine all is well again. Good luck.

Joanne oh...start weight was 209, goal was 135, present weight 125. Oh so cute!!!

Can't answer your question about a US DR but did want to chime in about the

Mexican border.

There is NO PROBLEM or VIOLENCE in Calexico/Mexicali border. NONE.

The problems are mostly in the Texas/Mexico border towns and that danger is VERY

REAL. A friend who flies in and out of Brownsville frequently says he can hear

the automatic gunfire on the Mexico side when he's leaving the airport...

I live in Virginia, near Wash.DC and will go anywhere on East coast or even

Mexico if I have to,but someone said the border was not safe by the State Dept.

but this may be a false rumor?

Just for information, ARNP-BC means Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner-Board Certified. So the practitioner that you saw was a Nurse Practitioner. Often these providers are as educated and have a more personal approach than the doctors.
