Hi Deb,

Get used to the idea that food does consume all your thoughts anymore. You probably won't ever have that hunger feeling like you used to have. Food will become a little better, but you will always be able to be in charge of the food instead of food controlling you.

I LIVE on protein drinks, literal, so I had to come up with a combo that works for me. I use Attain Vanilla Protein Shakes, you can only get them through Melaleuca. So I put in a scoop of Vanilla, 1 1/2 cups of milk, and a packet of Oregon Chi Tea Powder, 3 ice cubes and blend in my magic bullet. I LOVE THIS STUFF!!! I drink two to three a day. It is the first protein shake that I really love. So I would say, if this doesn't sound like a good blend, then get creative, think of what you do like and mix it with protein powder. I also get the strawberry flavor and put a spoon of peanut butter in it (with milk again) and blend that. It is as close to a PBJ sandwich I will ever get again in my life :) But I still love my chi protein shake WAY better :)

Remember that whatever you mix in adds calories so if you get too crazy you can blow your calories for the day in one fell swoop. On Aceves page under FILES, is one called PROTEIN DRINKS, it is different recipes for protein shakes, that may help.I went through a period in my banded life that I was convinced Ice cream was the only thing I could eat. I had myself convinced it was OK to eat ice cream for breakfast, lunch, and dinner - it was of course the ONLY thing I could "eat". HA HA HA What a lie I was living. Gaby gave me a good talking to and I realized I was so malnutritioned, from this life style. I got real with myself and started drinking protein shakes, it has changed my life!! I feel better, I look better, I'm healthy! So watch what you are "telling" yourself about Popsicle, it maybe part of the head game that we have to play. Cyrena DOB:

Is this odd? I don't really want to eat. It's more of a chore than anything enjoyable since most of the food I am eating (drinking) isn't very tasty and I'm not really hungry. The only things I actually enjoy eating are sugar free popsicles which have absolutely no nutritional value.

I do like soup, but it doesn't provide the protein I need.

With the exception of Premier Protein, which is ok, I can't find a protein drink or powder that isn't completely obnoxious.

Any thoughts?

During the early stages I found that blending some meat and veg in some broth very tasty.  I was able to get the meat down which helped with my protein intake,
