Guest guest
No I didn't do that, but I did deduct the cost of surgery and the cost of my air fare on my taxes the year I had it done. Guest guest
This WLS should be covered, but check with your provider to know for sure. Everyone's plan may be slightly different. >> Hello all,> > I have a question. My company offers the tax deffered Medical reimburment. Did anyone do this for the surgery? Guest guest
Hi , I used my flexible healthcare spending account and had no trouble getting reimbursed for the maximum amount allowed by my plan for the cost of surgery. If you have a debit card with your account, chances are good that you CANNOT use the card in Mexico. When you pay for your surgery, you will have to request that Dr. Aceves' staff provide you with a receipt indicating the type of procedure, cost of services, dates of service. I got mine through Nina via email after I got home. After submitting my documents to my spending account, I was reimbursed in approximately one week. Hope that helps. Guest guest
Yes, I did this. I talked to my flex account manager first and I just needed to send in the paperwork saying I paid for the surgery and a letter from my doctor saying it was medically necessary. I got that letter from my PCP. Good luck. Guest guest
Thank you so much! I will ask nina for the letter. I am excited that this will save a little $$. Guest guest
It would just be part of your medical expenses for the year. If you make a lot of money, it won't do anything for you. I deducted it too, but due to too much income (as if) it didn't get me anything. > > From: SuzanneSH@... Guest guest
I deducted it under medical expenses. You have to have a certain % based on how much money your earned, and I had a high enough % of medical expenses, so I could deduct the cost of the surgery and my air fair because I had to travel to get the surgery.
