It is cheaper in Mexico, but I told my doc, about the sugery and that I would need a prescription for nexium when I got home and he said ok. and no problems with the insurance.

You know what I would stock up on? Is the supranol they give you for pain after the surgery. Not because the surgery is painful at all it was not. Seriously. I was up and walking 8 minutes after they brought me back to the room. My aunt and Uncle were like so when are you having your surgery, I said I just did they were amazed. Anyway, I saved the supranol that they gave me for when I got home and I have taken it as needed for migraines, etc. It is not a narcotic, doesn't make you sleepy. It's just great wish we had it here. Sorry for the detailed response. How good is your insurance? I pay 120 for a 90 day supply or 55 a month at a local pharmacy.

Anyone stock up on their Nexium while still in Mexico? I'm wondering what the cost is there. I know it's ridiculously high here in the states (as well as requiring an Rx).Cheryl*

I *think* my max copay on prescriptions is $60/month but I'm not really sure. I

just know that one of my prescriptions currently costs me that, but the total

cost is $150.

So we can get Supranol in Mexico and bring it back across without a

prescription? Sounds like it must be wonderful if it will attack a migraine and

not knock you out or make you sick to your stomach. Every time I get a pain

med, it seems to make me queasy...

Hi,

I didn't buy anything before the surgery, there really isn't time to do it. You will feel well enough to walk to the pharmacy. It is only about 2 buildings away from the hospital. You walk out the front door of the hospital turn to your right and you will see it. You don't need a prescription --you just walk in and tell them what you want. I also purchased some Amoxicilin and some other antibiotics. You do not need a prescription to get any of these things.

You will want to walk as much as you can, lots of people go outside and walk around the building for something different to do. I would suggest using your debit or credit card to purchase them. If you don't the give you change in their money and not US currency--it is just much easier using your debit or credit cards for anything while you are in Mexico. Also if you are going to be using your credit or debit cards, call your bank and let them know that you are going to be in Mexico and the dates you will be there--so they know that you are out of the US and they will not block the charges.

They are wonderful. TO be used sparingly though. I am so exicted for you.

Sure, you can do it before or after surgery.  It's next door to the hospital.  Pey Farmacia. On Sun, May 16, 2010 at 5:35 PM, sinnermom3 <indyjls@...> wrote:

I am really curious about this as well. I haven't noticed anyone actually answer the question (if anyone knows!). Is there time/opportunity before or after surgery to get to a Mexican pharmacy to get a 6 month supply of nexium? Has anyone ever done that? For some reason, I feel like I saw them in the instructions I received from Nina, but I could have dreamed it. Thank you all.

Yolanda took us by the pharmacy the day we did our test to buy the nexium. Of course things were a little different for us since we arrived in San Diego the day Mexicali had the earthquake. We spent 2 nights at the hotel instead of one and Yolanda carried us to the hospital from the hotel for our tests and back. My husband who went with me walked to the pharmacy with another husband who came with his wife to buy some extra supradol. They will give you 2 boxes of supradol ( 4 pills in each ) and a box of nexium ( 14 pills). I only bought 1 other box of nexium since I have a presciption for prilosec and only pay $5 a month and the nexium was around $ 22 a box. If you can I would buy some more supradol, that stuff is wonderful! Sent from my iPodOn May 16, 2010, at 8:35 PM, "sinnermom3" <indyjls@...> wrote:

Yes, there is a pharmacy not to far from the hospital, a lot of patients walk AS A GROUP, to the pharmacy and you can get your nexium there.
