Hi everyone! I was sleeved yesterday the third out of four gals here getting

VSG. I have had a lot of lower back pain and am still having it. They couldn't

give me the spinal block due to me taking levonox and I'm not sure they have

been giving me enough pain meds. I woke up in recovery screaming because the

pain was so horrific. They said I have a low tolerance for pain (uh please i've

had two births one homebirth and one Pit induced 17 hour in labor w/o meds) and

a high tolerance for the drugs which is odd because I can't remember I took

anything for pain even tylenol. Today is much better though. I've went walking 3

times, drank all my grape juice and I'm on to apple juice taking tiny sips. My

back is still hurting (did anyone else have their back be their major source of

pain?) I was also in a car wreck on Wednesday but only my neck/shoulders hurt

from that. Anywho on the mend. The surgerysisters and their companions are

great! Glad to be in Mexico. The staff at hospital/hotel are wonderful and both

hospital/hotel are very clean!!

Hi,

I had a friend who I went with to Mexicali for sleeve surgery who could not have the spinal block either. She told Dr. Aceves that she was in a lot of pain and he made sure that she got the pain meds that she needed. Just make sure you tell one of the doctors that you are still having pain. They will make sure you are taken care of. There goal is for you to NOT have any pain. When you see Dr. Aceves next time, tell him that Suzanne said to say Hi! They will make every effort to make sure you have no pain.

I never had pain, and I am sorry that you are having it. I was there in Oct 2008. This is going to be a life changing event for you. You will never have any regrets. Remember we are here for you support. Each day gets better. Please remember that the 1st month is the most difficult month you will have to do. You can do anything for 30 days. It is a relearning process. You head will try to play all kinds of games with you and sometimes the brain is pretty successful. Please keep checking back with us, because we are here to help and guide you down this journey.

Hugs,

Suzanne

I could not have a spinal block for mine a couple of weeks ago because I had to be on Lovenex before and after the surgery and I had no pain what so ever. I guess I was lucky. Maybe was it the gas, I know alot of people had major gas pains? From: "SuzanneSH@..." <SuzanneSH@...> Sent: Sat,
