Hi Helen,

This does sound like it could be a neuropathic response. However there is also a condition where you bleed under the skin - I just cannot remember what it is called. That was the first thing I thought of.... I'll think on it and try to remember the name of it... maybe someone else will know it... I thought haemophilia but only men get it although women carry it - so its not that.... its going to annoy me... if it pops into my head I'll tell you of course!

Stabbing pains - like metal wire being inserted? This is how I describe my neuralgia pains... from inflamed nerves, cause thats what it feels like.

I also get swelling in the hands and feet. They go bright red and throb. But I have never had the spots that you have described.

Eek... hope your Dr can tell you, cause I'm going to go mad trying to think of the name!

Love Aisha.

Hi :o)

Yes I have fibro and three forms of arthritis, but not R/A. Swelling goes along with the territory I'm afraid :o( If it is getting too much, then I suggest you see your Dr. and he will most likely put you on a water pill. Getting the water off helps to move the joints a little bit better.

And I think moving them around is important for reducing the swelling. If knee

tape helps, you could use that. I could see putting on the knee tape in the

morning & just wearing it all day just so I could get the swelling down.

When my knees swell I put a bag of frozen peas on each knee and keep

them on for 10-15 minutes. This helps quite a bit. Don't be afraid

Hi , I am not an expert but I had a husband whose belly swelled and I was ignorant to it. I would say you should see a doctor immediately unless someone here can give you an answer. Personally, I wouldn't wait but see a doctor. Barbararogkatlev <rogkatlev@...> wrote: Hi guys,I have a question. It sounds like ascites , and he may need a tap or at least some diuretics . He should see his GI to be sure .

I am having sever swelling in the upper stomach area and my face. I went to the

emergency room and they couldn't find anything wrong with kidnye, liver, etc.

They said the lapband looked ok. Has anyone else had this problem. I feel like

I'm retaining gas. the doctor said my stomach was making high pitched sounds

like gas retention, but no gas relief is helping. Should I get some of the fill

taken out? Ahy anvise would be greatly appreciated. I'm laid off and have no

health insurance.

What leads you to believe this is band related?  Are you eating foods that perhaps cause gas like beans, cabbage, something like that?  Are you up and moving, walking, running, exercising?  That does help gas quite a bit.
