PMSubject: Re: Nexium

I got the Nexium in Canada and noticed they were 40g instead of the 20g from Mexico. My doctor called the pharmacy and they said you can cut them in half if you prefer, I do not, and that they can be mixed in water. My Nexium dissolve as well as the ones given to me in Mexicali. Not sure why yours did not dissolve or where you heard that from.

I was wondering if you can cut the Nexium pills into four pieces and just swallow them. Also would like to know if its okay to do that with daily vitamin pills. Cut them into pieces and swallow.

Right now I have the Unjury chewable vitamins but I really do not like the taste and will replace them with a regular vitamin if I can cut them up. They are so huge.

Re: Nexium

I use Prilosec. I crushed the pills using a pill crusher and added to about an ounce of water. Did not dissolve so I just gulped it down. I took all my meds the same way.

Okay so the Nexium here in Canada is not like the stuff they give you in Mexico and it does not dissolve well and leaves a gross taste in my mouth. and I don't think it works as well either. I just had surgery Sept 28 and only have 8 days left of the Nexium Mups. Did anyone else experience this and use something else like Tecta or Prilosec? And because the stuff is not suppose to be disolves did you swallow a pill that quick after surgery? If anyone has any advice I would love to hear it. Thanks

The problem with adult gummies is that they do not contain everything necessary that we need.  An adult chewable such as centrum adults or bariatric advantage is a far better bet.On Mon, Oct 4, 2010 at 7:20 AM, Debert <movie_mommy@...> wrote:

I have the Opurity which I bought from Unjury and they are the size of 5 nickels. They are chewable but I find it difficult to finish half.

Does Centrum come in chewable. I looked at all of the vitamins at Costco the other day and could not find anything chewable or dissolvable. I did see the gummy bears.

Can you cut up Nexium (or equivalent) into pieces and take it that way. I find both the Canadian and Mexicali Nexium bitter and mix in a little crystal light powder to give them a taste, although my doctor said the pharmacist recommended water only.

Walgreens and Target have adult Centrum.  BA has them but they aren't easy to take.  They don't taste bad, it's just really hard day after day.  They start out tasting great, but after a few weeks it's getting harder to get them down.  I'm going back to regular tablets.

Are we supposed to be using chewables? I am 5 weeks out and have been swallowing whole pills for a while now. They have not bothered me one bit and my "one a day" is quite large. I had to take my metformin and crushing it was dreadful so I started breaking it up and realized that they weren't much bigger pieces than my nexium, so I started taking that whole b/c it doesn't totally dissolve and I was scraping chunks into my mouth. I was doing a flintone's chewable, but those are awful and I was doing fine with whole pills, so I gradually switched. Is this bad??Sent from my iPhoneOn Oct 4, 2010, at 10:50 AM, Bipley <Bipley@...> wrote:

It has been 21 days since my surgery. I purchased the Nexium in Mexico, pharmacy next door to hospital. I had a tought time downing the Nexium the first 3 weeks. I started back on my Prilosec generic Omeprazole yesterday and had no problem getting the small capsule down. I purchase my generic in Mexico....very cheap. I am going to discontinue with the Nexium. I have three unopened boxes of the Nexium if anyone would like to purchase from me at the price I paid in Mexico. Please send me a private email (sgquick@...).
