Guest guest
I would start with things that you can take small bites of and that chew up pretty easy. For me it was chicken or ham. Fish works well to if you like fish. Steam or roast you meat when you eat it. Try only a small amount at first. You DO NOT have the room for much at first. Try to always eat your protein FIRST then a small amount of veggies. Suzanne
Guest guest
I don't have any advice but I know what I'd do. I would find me a chicken leg somewhere and sit and chew and chew and chew savoring every tiny bit of flavor. (written as I sit here sipping on my protein shake - haha) On Thu, Jun 10, 2010 at 4:31 PM, dnagano <dnagano@...> wrote: Any advice?? deb
Guest guest
Go slow with the trying of food. It’s not like 30 days rolls around and – BAM – we can just eat anything. I’m almost at seven weeks now and I have a hard time eating, for example, dense meat. Actually, this covers most meat. I’ve had several school of knocks learning episodes with things getting stuck and it isn’t fun. I still lean on my protein shakes. I sometimes throw a bit of orange juice in my vanilla protein shake and it tastes like a melted dreamsicle. I also lean towards soft food that goes down easy – cooked vegetables or soft fruit and vegetables like a few cherry tomatoes. Berries work good for me too. Other than that, enjoy. It’s wonderful to get back to ‘real’ food. But just remember, you are fresh from surgery still and it’s going to take awhile to have a well portioned meal. Oh, and sugar free popsicles are still my best friend. They always seem to soothe the bumps.
