Congrats!!!!! That's fantastic! You know, I've said it before and I'll say it again. There are lots of physical and emotional reasons we eat too much. There is simply no excuse for not exercising. It is pure lazy behaviors to not exercise. No surgery, no diet, nothing is going to fix not exercising. Your body was not designed to sit on a couch all day long, exercise is key. If you can't run then power walk. If you can't power walk then walk. If you can't walk then do chair exercises or swimming. No excuses.

So you are doing the best thing in the whole world. I'm telling you, when you get a band AND exercise, the pounds MELT off. It is the difference between night and day.Good for you! See? You have the best attitude in the whole world and you are clearly ready for a band. You want weight loss bad enough and THAT is what matters!

Hey , Bravo! .....and don't worry if you don't make it through the door the first time but somehow I bet you will. Remember it took me an entire semester to work up my courage to join the water aerobics again....the 40 year old fat lady. Just remember not to over due it because that will make you want to give up. Take it slow and easy, building up your stamina gradually. As for me, I just go and do what I need to do, nearly 2 hours, 3 times a week and it's paying off. I have lost 17 pounds in the past 3 months. I hate to walk but I do. Today I was late because I was at the lab getting pre op labs for my attempt at getting my insurance to pay for the banding. My marathon runner friend didn't miss a beat. I walked in the door and he said "are you ready for

some walking...UGH! He's a good motivator. Here is a great tip; wear your sunglasses in the pool so the young studs won't know how much you enjoy watching them swim or dive. There are some benefits to working out at a university :) Good luck, take care and enjoy, a Bipley <Bipley@...> wrote: Congrats!!!!! Um, yeah, I'll believe you. I can say that I think I have finally gotten to the point where I just really don't like what I'm not capable of any more. Much as I don't like even the thought of exercise, it's become a necessary evil.

bipley, bipley, bipley.... Of course there's an excuse for not exercising! There's working late, sleeping in, favorite tv show is on, crafty things to do, parking spaces right at the store's door, elevators and don't forget the favorite book! And I'll have you know my butt is perfect for sitting on a couch all day!

Oh wait....all of those things is why my butt is perfectly suited for a couch.

I'm going to exercise but I'm not going to like it!!

SNORK!!!!

Yes mother.

Oh I'll make it thru the door. They may have to take me pulling and screaming, but I'll make it. Apparently they have water aerobics also which I'd like to do. Now that doesn't seem as much like exercise.

I will definitely have to start out slow. I don't think I have any choice. I am sooooo out of shape. But, I know from past experience that I tend to gain strength fairly quickly so maybe by the time I've been banded (makes it sound like being tagged for tracking, doesn't it? ), I'll be where I can pick up at a good level when I can get back to machine-type exercise.

Oh, and I like the tip about the sunglasses! SNORK!!
