I knew my risks going there and this is why I wanted to get someone with good stats. I did not have a leak myself. I would ask Dr A's staff about his stats, when I asked they were very good and I felt that they were true. I got some 0 leaks stats from other offices and I did not believe them. I did some checking and was able to find that 1 had lied to me, I followed my gut instinct. I prefer to know what my risks are and most importantly for me, I wanted to know that the dr would know how to detect a problem and know how to fix it if it did come up. I know leaks may or may not be a surgeons fault but seeing how good his numbers were at the time of my surgery I felt I was in good hands. My advice would be to do your research, follow your instinct and you will know what to do.
