Guest guest
Contemplating face lift surgery, I literally sat on my couch every evening while watching TV, and would get this pit in my stomach because of fear. I almost let fear hold me back from going forward at all. In fact, fear got such a hold on me that I created getting a cold that might have stopped the surgery, but as it was, I was OK enough on the surgery date that the anesthesiologist said I was good to go. I woke up absolutely FINE and in no pain. They use so much local medication that you will be numb in the areas being done. That numbness lasts for awhile and they give you good pain meds (better than Vicoden) that will manage the pain. Elective surgery is very different than required surgery (paid by insurance), they treat you better, you get better attention and drugs - it's a whole different experience. Anyone contemplating plastic surgery after your weight loss, GO FOR IT. Today's technology and drugs make it quite a bit more comfortable than back in the day. I know because I had breast implants first done in the late 70s with just a Valium IV, and I woke up during the procedure - in other words - when they started shoving the implants in, or that's how it felt at the time. That was with a well-known Beverly Hills surgeon, too. But nowadays it's not a big deal at all. And if you've had nausea issues with anesthesia in the past, they give you (standard protocol) anti-nausea suppositories just in case. I didn't need them, but for those of you who might, that too can be "managed." This is a process of TRANSFORMATION on all levels, and each of you will know when and how it affects you. My point in all this: Don't let fear hold you back! >> OH MY GOODNESS APRIL! You look amazing. I am so glad to hear how > effortless your face lift went. Guest guest
OMG! You look amazing AMAZING! Have you been able to steady out your weight? I remember you from the VSG board I cannot believe you are 62. Who did your work? I'd love to know. I have a full facelift post weight loss (done on 3-10-11) and are showing you my full length body and close up face. I turned 62 on April 17th, so I'm very happy with the work performed by a local plastic surgeon which (for those who will ask) consisted of: Endoscopic brown lift -aka Rhytidectomy foreheadFacelift/SMAS (aka lower face AND neck lift)Blepharoplasty, upper and lower eyelidsSOOF - Mid check - aka mid-facelift How much did this all cost, I can here you asking: $16,820 complete - that's surgeon's fees, surgery center (like a small hospital), and anesthesiology. This was approx. 7 hrs. of surgery. Woke up feeling great. Spent 40 min. in recovery, and was then out the door and home. NO PAIN, just swelling and numbness which continues for about 8-12 weeks. There was never any real pain, and besides they give you good drugs for that. Next up: a boob remix with lift, when I come up with the $$$. Hey, dream big, you guys, it's an investment in YOU after all the weight loss. Total weight lost 130 pounds basically, goes up and down by 3-5 pounds depending on the day. Dr. Aceves started me down a road of utter transformation! Weight loss, move to new state, start new business, plastic surgery on face, body work to follow. Life is a ride, not always what you ask for, but definitely what you need. Don't hesitate to GO FOR IT!!
Guest guest
Thanks for the nice comments. Since this is Dr. Aceves' board, I'll just post this once: plastic surgery performed by Dr. Gallagher of http://northwestcosmeticsurgery.com/. My weight stablized quite awhile ago. I maintain between 116-119 pounds. Since the surgery my weight popped up a couple of pounds because of the swelling and fluid retention in the tissues. I was 118 today. Before surgery I was maintaining around 114-116. I As for weight maintainance, if anything, I was having to work at keeping weight on. Dr. Gallagher is the best in Central Oregon, but there are many fine plastic surgeons out there. I was going to see Dr. Bello (in Mexico) for boobs, tummy tuck and some arm work, but when it came to the face, I wanted someone local who was an expert in faces. I will now go post the BEFORE face photos (taken the night before surgery.) Marvel at the amazing difference. >> OMG! You look amazing AMAZING!
