Guest guest
Krista- Sorry not sure what is up with my email. Anyway only about half of my message went out. So I agree with Sally and the Perinatologist who both stated that there are other ways to test for diabetes in pregnancy other than the conventional sugary drink. You should be able to discuss your concerns with your provider. The Perinatologist stated that those with "dumping" shouldn't do the traditional test and I agree that if you have issues with this then it probably wouldn't be a pleasant experience. I didn't think the VSG was associated with dumping syndrome, lucky for me I haven't had this pleasure yet and hopeful wont. Irregardless, just ask lots of questions at your appointments and get the answers you need. If you don't feel that your questions are being addressed you could always ask for a referral to a Perinatologist or maternal fetal medicine specialist (MFM). I am betting though that you wont have any VSG related complications. Best of luck with your pregnancy and your continued weight loss journey after the complition of your pregnancy. Guest guest
Sharon,I can't thank you and everyone else who responded for the support and suggestions. I feel better advocate for myself and unborn child with this ammunition and can speak with my physician having knowledge and not just guesses! With that, I don't know if I'm experiencing true "dumping" syndrome or hyperglycemia or something else, but the feelings I have are much like those described in dumping syndrome. I know that there have been others who have posted similar experiences and what it actually is seems up for debate. All I know is that too much sugar at once makes me sick!!! I think it is a blessing in disguise! )Thanks again!KristaSent from my iPhoneOn Apr 30, 2011, at 4:35 PM, Sharon Hendricks <shendricks5@...> wrote: Krista- Sorry not sure what is up with my email.
