Anyone from Portland Oregon?

I'm hoping to see Dr. A by the end of April for LapBand. Lots of

questions and would love to talk to someone locally who has already had

the procedure.

I am from just West of Portland, OR. I had the surgery Nov 9, 2007. It

was a good decision for me. I have struggled alot with losing weight.

Now I am doing it slow and steady with the help of the band. Feel free

to ask questions...everyone here will answer them for you. Just

reading through past postings is also helpful!

, is there anything you would do differently? I am concerned

about the ongoing costs (airfare mostly) for fills. How many fills

have you had to have since your were banded? Did you go back to Dr.

A or have them done locally? I've got to pay for the full surgery

out of pocket so I am interested in my long range budget.

HI,I live in Eugene OR. There is a nurse practitioner in Portland named Fitzpatrick. She does an excellent fill just by feel. Don't fall for the crap about needing a doctor for the fills. It's a quick poke in the gut hurts very little she puts the saline in and your done takes less then 15 minutes. The cost is $150. She is very nice and very easy to deal with.
