Hi ,

I started my journey of weight loss with a weight of 225 and it took me 14 months to lose 105 pounds. I was 63 when I started. I have maintained that weight loss now for 3 years. You are going to love having a sleeve. Remember it is only a tool and it requires work and effort on your part. The first month will be the hardest that you will do. This board and the people on here are very supportive. This is the place to come to with your fears and questions.

It is very NORMAL we have a mixed bag of emotions and feelings the closer you get to leaving for your surgery. You will be excited, scared, can't wait for the surgery, 2nd guess yourself if this is what you should do, not sure you made a good choice--excited because it is going to happen. These are some of the emotions that I had.

We are here to help you along the way. I will repost some things that you might find helpful as you start your life changing event.

Keep me posted to how you are doing. You have picked the VERY best doctor you could ever have. I was a self pay, and now I am glad I was because I would have never had the kind of care I received from Dr. Aceves and his staff if I would have gone to any US doctor. You are going to an exceptionally clean hospital with a staff of people who really care about you and your success.

Hugs,

Suzanne

I wanted to introduce myself. My name is . I am 48 and I live in North Carolina. I am married to a very supportive fella named Guy and I have three great kids. My oldest is my daughter and she's expecting my first grandchild Sept 19th. I am scheduled for a sleeve with Dr A on September 15th. Sept's gonna be a big month for me! I'm so excited, nervous, etc, but mostly I wish it would get here already!! LOL!I am 5' 3" and I currently weigh 220. I would love to be about 130. I'm hoping this surgery will give me the tools in which to get there. I'm willing to do what ever it takes. My insurance does not pay for any kind of weight loss surgery, so I am self pay. I was thrilled to find such a wonderful doc that I could afford. People as me if I am nervous going to Mexico, but I'm really not. I trust the doctors here and I feel I am in good hands. So I am flying in to San Deigo on Sept 14th and having my sleeve on the 15th. Anyone else have these dates?
