Guest guest
Calm down....Dr. Aceves is super! Yes, I did have coffee (decaf) the week before surgery.....Negative on the balloon....If you can't walk, find a place that you can swim, do water aerobics, or water walk....I did not take vitamins prior to surgery....My husband , my son, my daughter-in-law, and my best friend have all had the gastric sleeve surgery.....If you have questions, just ask, but you really need to be excited.....It is a new beginning.....PatFrom: Ariane <silvaariane@...> Sent: Thursday, September 8, 2011 12:32 PMSubject: A week before... Guest guest
I remember I was never nervous because I had complete confidence in the research I did on Dr. Aceves and all the wonder people and their stories on this board. Everybody that will be in the surgery room will come in and talk to you, introduce themself and tell you their roll. They don't even do that in the U.S. Right before surgery I thought I'd be nervous, but I was excited to start my new life. Wait till they give you the "happy pill". You really won't have a care in the world, it was great! My mom said I was sitting in bed saying "Andale', andale', let's get this party started!" Guest guest
I agree, I was ready to do this. And, about surgery, the one thing I remember most about the surgery suite...it was warm. Anyone who has ever had surgery, the room is always sooo cold. I've said it before, this was the best hospital experience I have ever had. If this is up and coming for you, don't worry, don't be afraid to be in Mexico, enjoy this time... this experience you are about to have, will be the best 'first day of the rest of your life'. Guest guest
Awh lucky you! I was the only surgery scheduled for the day I arrived so I didn't get the happy pill! Dr said I didn't need it, I'd be done before I knew it. Wasn't so sure about that and I was a sack of nerves since this was the first time I ever had surgery, but he was right. All of the staff were great. They were playing U2 when I was wheeled into the surgical suite, wanted to know if I liked the music, if not they could start singing. They moved like lightening getting me prep'ed and before I knew it I was waking up in recovery. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.
